If requested, the treatment we h a v e inc luded (Arsenicum Alb. & Sulphur 3 0 c ) i s a homoeopathic remedy proven to work against the dreadful conditionof Sarcoptic Mange in foxes. Since the remedy is made up from natural ingredients there is no fear of overdosing and nothing to worry about if a non-infectedfox or other animal or bird takes the treatment. To avoid the local cat population stealing the treatment meant for the fox, we suggest that it is administeredvia a honey or jam sandwich; foxes love sweet things - cats don’t! Since foxes are instinctively selfish with their food, if you have more than one fox visitingyour property suffering from mange we recommend that the food is scattered widely rather than being placed in one spot. This will then ensure that more thanone fox feeding at the same time can do so without having to be nose to nose with each other.

Dosage: We recommend that four drops of the treatment should be administered into the food for each fox daily

After roughly three/four weeks of treatment you should notice the fox/es scratching and biting less, and eventually you will see the new hairgrowing back. Once the hair has started to grow back you can stop treating. More than one bottle may be required - so please apply for moremange treatment when needed

When to call us: (07778 183954) If the fox is suffering greatly with conjunctivitis as pictured above; If the fox is constantly drinking, is collapsed, haslarge open infected wounds anywhere or is suffering from more than 50% hair loss. Also if you are at all concerned about a fox’s condition, whichyou have not previously alerted us to. Photo’s above show that even in extreme cases, if we can catch the fox the condition can be treated.

The work undertaken by the National Fox WelfareSociety is completely voluntary and sending outthe mange treatment packs free of charge is oneof the biggest strains on our finances.

In an average month we can send out anywherebetween 500 - 800 free Mange treatmentpacks. Not including any other expenses like food,vet fees, capture equipment etc in just postagealone sending out the free mange treatment packs,we have spent a mind-blowing £16,508.25 fromJanuary 1st through to July 14th, 2017.

This figure does not include the cost of treatment,envelope, and leaflet. More importantly, these freemange treatment packs will have gone to help noless than 4,928 foxes suffering from the dreadfuland life-threatening condition,Sarcoptic Mange. This fantastic figure does notinclude all the adult foxes and cubs we haverescued this year.

Our priority by sending out these free mange treatment packs is to ensure, even if people can’t affordto donate towards the treatment, the fox will get treated regardless. If you don’t want to commit toa regular Bank Standing Order you can send a one off donation made payable to NFWS.
