FISH ON A TRAIN
Teaser Trailer• Leah and Jonah walking on a street normally. Animals
following Leah and bombs going off behind Jonah.• Funny teaser trailer to make the audience laugh and want
to know more about the film.
Cinema Links• Having red carpet interviews as people are in the cinema
already, advertising and giving the audience a basic idea of what the film is about.
• Short interviews with the cast to show who is involved within the film.
• Trailer shown after the short interview or before.
Clothes Range• As the audience is teens and above, action figures
wouldn’t be appropriate for that age group. Designing a range of clothes would be a better idea for that audience.
• Our main tagline is ‘What happens with your hangover?’ – designing a t-shirt with this on may attract the audience the film sets out to entertain.
• Quotes from films/taglines on T-shirts are popular, especially with teenagers.
Sponsorship Deals• Having sponsorship deals would increase the amount of
people who get a taste of the film as its linked with something else. A wider audience is spotted.
• The deal we were thinking of was McDonalds. The advert would be combined as a short teaser trailer as well as an advert for the restaurant itself.
• ‘Fillet o’ fish’ with Leah’s head on the end of it dancing around.
• Jonah eating loads of the food then going back for more but he accidentally blows it up etc.
• Happy meal toys.
Tagline• To help anchor the meaning of the film• To show it’s a comedy• “What happens on YOUR hangover?”• We can add the tagline onto all the products, like the
teaser trailers and posters and other merchandise so that everyone knows that they are connected.
Radio Interviews• We can send the cast and crew i.e. director to different
radio talk shows to promote the film.
• They can talk about behind the scenes experiences as people are interested.
Social Networking• Using social networking we can give cryptic clues about
the film leading up to the release.• With Twitter and Facebook film fans can follow the
account for the information about the film• Each character could have an account to tweet off so they
can talk about the upcoming release to build excitement around it.
VIDEO GAMES/ APPLICATIONS• The game for this film would be
based on the characters running around and completing different missions using the super powers that they have. It will include bombs and talking animals.
• Despicable Me and Monsters Inc. both have successful games of the app store
Teaser Posters• A fish in a fish bowl on a train seat.• Brad Pitt’s face (Sherlock Holmes)• Jonah Hill standing with bombs and fish behind him.
Onesie• A fish themed onesie, for example’ Spiderman
Press Stories• Leah and Jonah get together while filming• The same way in which the Twilight characters were seen
as if they were together in real life (Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart)
Magazine Interviews• We would like to have the main character of ‘Fish on a Train’ interviewed in
several popular film and/or regular magazines in order to reach a large audience.• We would like the main character to talk about themselves and their lives as well
as the film so that the audience can get to know them as she is an unknown actor, but to also form a relationship. This may make it more likely that they would want to see the film if they like the actress.
In this interview Daniel Ratcliffe talks about the film industry and his experiences on Broadway as well as the film, so readers are interested in him and then hear about the film.
Magazine Covers• We would want Leah to be the main focus on the magazine cover so she
becomes known as the main character. • We would also want some covers to include other characters, that are limited
edition to create a sense of rarity and prestige. We saw this in the Hobbit promotion along with Harry Potter and The Hangover which were all large successful films.
Main Trailer• We would like out main trailer to show the funniest parts
of the film, however to not ruin the film for the audience. We would like to show all the main characters as an introduction to the film, and to allow the audience to make a judgment on them.
• We would like our film to be similar to The Hangover as it shows funny parts but leaves you wanting to watch more.
