HERITAGE DESIGN | OFFICE DESIGNFall 2015 | Senior Design Studio | New Orleans, LA
Situated in the heart of New Orleans, Heritage Design is a vertical studio space that allows interior design students, faculty, and professionals to collaborate together to provide design services as an outreach to the neighboring community. Heritage specifically focuses on aiding local businesses and individuals in creating functional spaces in existing buildings so as to preserve the architectural charm, spirit, and heritage of the city. That objective, as well as the architectural heritage of historic New Orleans itself chiefly influenced the studio’s design direction, which features clean, modern lines in an industrial setting.

SYNERGENICS | CORPORATE DESIGNSpring 2015 | Junior Design Studio | Baton Rouge, LA
Synergenics is the redesign of an existing building shell to house the headquarters of an interna-tional synergetic design and consulting firm. In addition to rendered floor plans, elevations, renders, reflected ceiling plan, and FF&E specifications, a basic branding scheme (consisting of name, concept, and logo) was required. The logo then had to be integrated into the space.

CARRUTH LAKE | MIXED-USE / COMMUNITY DESIGNFall 2015 | Senior Design Studio | Port Allen, LA
Carruth Lake is a mixed-use neighborhood development with a focus on outdoor living, minimalism, and community. Residences surround a commercial core (made up of restaurants and retail stores), both of which are oriented to an existing lake. Community amenities include parking on all streets, sidewalks throughout, boat docks, a boardwalk overlooking the lake, public restrooms, hiking trails, dog parks, and community outdoor entertaining spaces connecting residences. All spaces were formed as transformations of the same 8’ x 10’ form. Carruth Lake was the result of a group project in a vertical junior / senior interior design studio with a focus on senior students mentoring underclass-men throughout the design process.

ATRIUM STAIRS | EDUCATIONAL DESIGNSpring 2014 | Junior Design Studio | Louisiana State University
The Atrium Stair project focused on designing a staircase to connect the four floors of the Art + De-sign Building on Louisiana State University’s campus, which houses the college’s Interior Design and Landscape Architecture students. The staircase needed to serve two or more auxiliary functions in addition to vertical circulation. This solution focused on giving students spaces outside of the studio atmosphere for lounging, dining, collaborating, and private studying.

ANONYMOUS PROJECT | RENDER WORKSummer 2015 | K&CO | Internship
During a summer internship at K&CO (boutique commercial design firm located in Tribeca), I was part of a four person team working on an anonymous multi-family residential project in Brooklyn, New York. The completed project will include rental units, condos, and a number of amenities including: concierge, gym, basketball court, spin room, speakeasy, condo lounge, and outdoor lounge areas. My responsibilities for this project included participating in the execution renders at all stages of devel-opment (from creating base models to modeling individual components to rendering to post-render edits), plan and section work in AutoCAD, the creating of specification books, assisting in the devel-opment of presentations for clients, and the development of a set of lighting plans.

SARA BROUSSARD | ABOUT ME“Better to pass boldly into that other world, in the full glory of
some passion, than to fade and wither dismally with age.”- James Joyce
Without passion, there is no inspiration, and so I aspire to bring a sense of passion and wonder into every one of my designs. I seek to instill beauty into the everyday, and create high functioning spaces that appear effortless and natural. Above all, I want to design inviting, harmonious spaces that that make people’s lives easier and happier.
