New Features Business Essential Functions – Integration with Asset Intelligence Network SAP Edge Services Business Essential Functions Service has added, for customers that have subscribed to the SAP Asset Intelligence Network (AIN), the option of integrating to AIN, so that supported data objects (such as Manufacturer equipment models and attributes, including measurement thresholds) can be made available at the Edge for consumption via available APIs. Please refer to Business Essential Functions Service – Developer Guide and Business Essential Functions Service – API Guide for more details. Persistence Service – REST API SAP Edge Services Persistence Service has added a REST based API for accessing IoT Services data (measures and device data). Please refer to the SAP Edge Services – Persistence Service Guide for more details. SAP EDGE SERVICES 1802

New Features Windows x64 Operating System Support SAP Edge Services now supports Windows x64, in addition to Linux x64. Please refer to the SAP Edge Services – Overview Guide for details on exact version support. Offline Support for IoT Services Gateway Edge Data Model SAP Edge Services now supports the offline data model feature in IoT Services Gateway Edge 4.14+. This feature is off by default, therefore, it is strong recommended this feature is enabled in Gateway Edge 4.14+. Please refer to the SAP Edge Services – Overview Guide for more instructions to enable this feature. SAP EDGE SERVICES 1712

New Features Data Privacy and Protection SAP Edge Services has data privacy and protection features added, as outlined in the Edge Services – Overview Guide. S/4HANA Integration Support SAP Edge Services Business Essential Functions Service can now be configured to integrate with S/4HANA version 1610. Use the Business Essential Functions (BEF) Service deployment to the BEF gateway. In Downloads, at the SAP Edge Services console, there is the option of choosing SAP ERP Integration Component or SAP S/4HANA Integration Component. Refer to Business Essential Functions Service documentation for additional information on supported features when integrating to S/4HANA. Streaming Service – Dynamic Business Context Support SAP Edge Services Streaming Service has added support for dynamic business context through the addition of the rule data sources feature. Rule data sources provide dynamic configuration to one or more rules. The feature allows the configuration of a rule to be updated automatically from a HTTP backend capable of

returning a JSON response. For example, the threshold value for a Value Monitoring rule can be dynamically updated from a HTTP backend, or from the local Business Essential Functions Service. This allows rules to be configured where the threshold value is either unknown at design time, or dynamically changes over time. Streaming Service –Import/Export of Configuration SAP Edge Services Streaming Service has added support for Import and Export of the current configuration through the Streaming Service Edge Console. Creating a large number of rules one at a time through the Streaming Service Edge Console can be time consuming. For this reason, the Edge Console now supports the import and export of Streaming Service configuration via a JSON-based grammar. The enables the rapid definition of streaming rules and the ability to transfer configurations from one machine to another.
