The Most Holy Trinity June 15, 2014

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. God wants us to be saved. For heaven, for holiness, for the happiness that doesn't fade away. Thats why he sent his Son. He didnt send a servant or a slave, a messenger or a minion. He sent part of himself, his own Son. This was obviously a mission of great love. God gave his only Son, Jesus, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. To believe in Jesus is to accept two radical claims of Christianity. First, that God is the Trinity, three-persons-in-one-God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And second, that God loved us enough to become one of us through his incarnation. God has really sent his Son to save the world! Let us do our part to help the world to believe its true.

    Happy Fathers Day!

Thank you to all who participated in last weekends festivities. It was a great joy to celebrate our heritage here at Santa Sophia. Youll notice a few details around the church are getting closer to completion but not everything is com-pletely fine-tuned. If you see anything

as you enjoy our newly restored place for worship please feel free to e-mail the parish office or call us and we will put it on our list of things to look at. We appreciate your eyes and ears and want to provide a beautiful and enrich-ing time of prayer and worship for you at Mass.

There are some great summer activities available on and off of our parish campus. Here is a brief reminder about some things that are coming up.

    1) PASSION AND PURPOSE FOR MARRIAGE: On June 28 at St. Rose of Lima Church there will be a won-derful opportunity to enrich your marriage. Whether you are married 50 years or 1 year, or whether youre going through tough times or things seem to be okay, you will benefit from this day of prayer and talks about how to get more out of this sacrament that God gives us. Even if you arent married you are invited to learn about your future possible vocation or insights into others you know and love who are married.

    2) MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMP: From July 21st to July 24th I will be assisting Whispering Winds in put-ting on a middle school camp. This camp is for those students entering 7th through 9th grade in the fall of 2014. If youre interested in giving your child a wonderful experience of fun and faith I en-courage you to visit www.whisperingwinds.org and check out the Middle School Camp page.

    3) DOGMA AND DONUTS: On Sunday July 27, August 3, and 10 we will be receiving three wonderful speakers from Catholic Answers Tim Staples, Chris Check, and Trent Horn, to teach us about our faith while we mow down some donuts. Keep your eyes peeled for more information. This will take place from 9:15 am to 10:45 am between the two Mass times. For more info about our speakers visit www.catholic.com and look at their bios.

    Peace of Christ,

Go forth in peace, for you have followed the good road. go forth without fear, for he who created you has made you holy, has always protected you, and loves you as a mother.

Blessed be you, my God, for having created me.

    ~St . Clare of Assisi
