Located near the coast in the Gothic Quarter, Exiample lies on one side which the Med-iterranean sea lies on the other. + ”Geometrically ingenious roof structure made of colorfully glazed stone tiles by Ceramica Cumella”+ ”Where the squares, the constant drawing of widening’s overflying the street as the only urban mechanism.” + The goal of this project was urban related. Enric Miralles and Bendetta wanted a project that allowed people to inhabit the space. + A project that became a rehabilitation and a new construction+ creating residential density+ function interior + Caterina facades change rhythms, and is overshadowed by the roof in more ways than one. + Fluid vaults are quite fluid+ The shopping points decrease, rationalizing the access and services systems. Creating public space, and residential density. + We move the shopping area to Avenida Cambó, reducing its section, opening the old Market construction to the heart of Santa Caterina quarter.+ This market functions well with the busy everyday life+ Museum in the bottom floor+ Museu de la Xocolata and the Palau de la Musica Catalana nearby+ Awards _National Award of Generalitat de Catalunya 2001 _Spanish Ceramic Awards ASCER 2005 – Architectural Prize
