Sanskrit Week Celebration in Kendriya Vidyalaya Mysore
The Kendriya Vidyalaya
Mysore has organized the Sanskrit
Week Celebration from 7th
August 2014 with the guidelines of
R.O (KVS) Bangalore Region.
Eminent Sanskrit Scholar, President
Awardee, Retired Deputy Director
of Oriental Research Institute
Mysore University, Mysore, Dr. H. V
Nagaraja Rao inaugurated the
Sanskrit Week Celebration on 7
August 2014. He inspired the
students by his valvuable speech
towards Sanskrit study.
In this inaugural function
students performed a Sanskrit
group song, a skit (Tarave
Namostu) and a group dance.
An exhibition was also
arranged with charts, models,
scrap books, working models,
electronic gadgets which were
prepared by students and was also
inaugurated by Dr. H V Nagaraja
Rao on 7th
Aughust 2014.

70 exhibits were displayed. The
good exhibits were awarded with
prizes in valedictory function.

Every day the
assembly programme
was conducted in
Sanskrit only. Sanskrit
competitions were
organized in the
week. Fancy dress
competition (6th
Std),
Bhagavdgeeta
Recitation (7th
Std),
Geetagovinda Singing
(8th
Std),
Elocution/Story telling
(9th
Std), Quiz (10th
Std), Open Essay
writing competition in
Hindi (6th
to 12th
Std).
A Valedictory
function was
organized on 13th
August 2014.
Vidwan Gangadhar
Bhat, Professor of
Tarka Shastra,
Govt. Sanskrit
College, Mysore
was invited as the
chief guest. In his
speech he
expressed the
necessity of the
studying Sanskrit and
the peculiarities of
Sanskrit language.
Interaction session was also conducted by him and he cleared the doubts of the
students. In this valedictory function a Sanskrit skit, mono act and a group dance
were performed.

participated in different

50 students were honoured
with prizes whose mother
tongue is Kannada,
Malayalam, Hindi and
Tamil. Two students of our
Vidyalaya Kumari K. V.
Padmasini (10th
Std) and
Kumari Lakshmi Nari (10th
Std) participated in the
interschool competitions
held at K.V, RWF Bangalore.
With the guidance of the Principal Smt. Ruby Huria,
Heramba R. Bhat, TGT Sanskrit has made this Sanskrit Week Celebration
successful.
