Estimados feligreses,
Mi nombre es Aaron Padilla y estoy en mi sexto año de formación para
el sacerdocio. Tengo la suerte de regresar aquí a El Campo para mi año
pastoral. En mi tiempo en el seminario, he estudiado en St. Benedict,
Louisiana en St. Joseph Abbey Seminary College durante dos años y
luego en Houston en St. Mary Seminary durante tres años. Honestamente puedo decir que estoy feliz de
estar fuera de la escuela y tener esta oportunidad de servir a la comunidad. Estoy emocionado de cómo
puedo ayudar y aprender de nuestra comunidad.
Crecí jugando muchos deportes, siendo mis favoritos el fútbol y el béisbol. Siempre me gustan los
desafíos que surgen de la competencia, ya sea física, mental, individual o en equipo. Mi amor por los
deportes y la competencia también alimentó mi curiosidad y deseo de aprender cosas diferentes, ya sea
en la escuela, la universidad o en la vida. Justo antes de ingresar al seminario, estaba estudiando
Matemáticas e Ciencias de Computación en UHV mientras trabajaba como tutor de matemáticas y
ayudante de mantenimiento en un complejo de apartamentos. Rezo para que mi experiencia vivida con
los dones y talentos pueda ser útil para la comunidad, especialmente con mis clases de CCD y
Confirmación.
Nací y crecí en Victoria y asistí a varias iglesias católicas creciendo allí; sin embargo, mi parroquia de
origen es Nuestra Señora de los Dolores. Estoy agradecido con ellos, mi familia, amigos, organizaciones
católicas y las muchas personas maravillosas que han estado orando por mis hermanos seminaristas y
por mí. Sé que sin estas oraciones y apoyo mi vocación hubiera sido mucho más difícil de descubrir y
mantener. Continúe rezando por las vocaciones al sacerdocio y la vida religiosa en general, pero
específicamente desde aquí en San Roberto.

October Events for Families: parenting workshops,
Bishop event, grief support
Parenting workshops featuring national speakers (10/13, 10/20,
10/27), including Dr. Ray Guarendi from EWTN, Mike and Alicia
Hernon from the Messy Family Project, and author Katie Warner.
These workshops will be offered online for just $25 for all 3
sessions, and recordings made available for those who cannot

Family Day of Reflection with Bishop Cahill on Mary, Queen of

Dear Parishioners,
My name is Aaron Padilla and I’m in my sixth year of formation for the priesthood. I’m blessed to
return here to El Campo for my pastoral year. In my time with the seminary, I have studied in St.
Benedict, Louisiana at St. Joseph Abbey Seminary College for two years then in Houston at St. Mary

tunity to serve the community. I am excited about how I can help and learn from our community.
I was born and raised in Victoria and attended several Catholic churches growing up there;
however, my home parish is Our Lady of Sorrows. I am grateful to them, my family, friends, catholic
organizations, and the many amazing people who have been praying for my brother seminarians
and myself. I know that without these prayers and support my vocation would have been a lot harder
to discover and maintain. Please continue to pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life in
general but specifically from here in San Roberto.

I grew up playing a lot of sports, football and baseball being my favorites. I always like the challenges
that came from competition whether that was physical, mental, individual, or team based. My love of
sports and competition also fed my curiosity and desire to learn different things, whether it was in school,
college, or life. Right before entering seminary, I was studying mathematics and computer science at UHV
while working as a math tutor and maintenance helper at an apartment complex. I pray that my lived
experience with gifts and talents can be helpful to the community, especially with my CCD and
Confirmation classes.
