    boe). His parents were both born in Nigeria and even thoughOgemdi was born in San Diego, he was given a Nigerianname, which translated to English means my time willcome. Nwagbuo is the familys surname.

    Nwagbuo, who registered his rst-career sack in the fourth quaof the Chargers Monday Night Football opener in Oakland andmade his rst-ever NFL start last Sunday vs. Baltimore, got a verstart playing football. He did not play as a prep at Mt. Miguel School in the San Diego suburb of Spring Valley. After graduNwagbuo enrolled at Southwestern College in San Diego and grst exposure to the game. A successful two-year stint led to a scarship to Michigan State where he earned a degree in interdisciplstudies. Nwagbuo was then signed and spent time with the New YGiants in 2008.     Poly-San Luis Obsipo Athletics Hall of Fame. The induction ceremonytook place during the weekend of Sept. 12 around theMustangs football home opener against SacramentoState. Spanos studied aerospace engineering at Cal Poly

    Bombers were the Chargers special guestsat last Sundays home opener against Balti-more. Each player received a powder blueChargers jersey and the entire team was in-troduced to the crowd before the game.

    Several weeks ago, after their return from Williamsport, Pa., theBlue Bombers, so named because of the LLWS record 59 home runsthe team hit during the tournament, took a tour of Chargers Park andwatched the team practice. Afterward, Head CoachNorv Turnerhadthe players form a tunnel and each Park View player was given achance to run through the tunnel, receiving handshakes and high-ves from the Chargers players. Several Bolts, includingLuis Castillo,who was one of the teams biggest fans, stuck around after practiceand signed autographs for the new world champs.

    Highlights from Week 1 at Oakland The Chargers rallied from a 20-17 fourth-quarterdecit with 2:30 remaining to win the game, 24-20, ona ve-yard touchdown run byDarren Sproleswith 18seconds left in the game. Sproles nished the night with 246 all-purpose

    yards, including kickoff returns of 66 and 59 yards. Philip Riversengineered the game-winning drive,

    leading the Chargers 89 yards in nine plays aftertaking over with 2:30 remaining in the fourth

    quarter. He completed 6-of-7 for 79 yards on thegame winning drive. It was Rivers 10th-career fourth-quartercome-from-behind victory.

    Rivers actually led two fourth-quarter drives against the Raiders,both resulting in touchdowns. He capped the rst with a 15-yardtouchdown pass toVincent Jackson, during which he went 4-for-5 for 65 yards, including a 10-yarder toAntonio Gateson 3rd-and-3 and a 15-yarder to Sproles on 3rd-and-12. Rivers fourth-quarterpasser rating against the Raiders was an outstanding 144.4.

    Quentin Jammerhad an interception on thegames opening series and later capped a second-quarter three-and-out with an open eld passeddefensed on third down.
