ARCHITECTURAL DIVISION EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR GIVES LECTURE AT DOWNTOWN LIBRARYOn Thursday, June 11, Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty held a special Architectural Division event in Downtown San Diego. The lecture on Spanish and Mediterranean architecture was given at the San Diego Central Library, itself an example of stunning architecture and design by Rob Wellington Quigley, FAIA, and Tucker Sadler & Associates.

“The library is an icon of San Diego architecture,” says Jan Horn, Executive Director of the Architectural Division. “We felt it was fitting to hold our event there because of the terrific responses the building has received from the architectural community.”

Jan Horn was also the featured speaker at the event, selecting Spanish and Mediterranean architecture as the topic because so many of the homes for sale in San Diego are influenced by, and examples of, this type of design. In addition to its educational value, the talk was part of a series of classes in Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty’s Architectural Division Certification Program, a unique curriculum that instructs and equips their agents with this specialized area of knowledge.

“Our certification program puts more value on the table for our sellers,” adds Horn, “and more readily educates our buyers as to the merits of architect-designed homes.”

Nearly 150 real estate agents and members of the public attended the presentation, which was immediately followed by a reception in the library’s courtyard.
