Beautiful homes, attractively priced
Samson PlaceCranford Close, Rainham, Kent ME8 7HD
A collection of 3, 4 & 5 bedroom houses
Beautiful homes in an ideal Medway location
A location as perfect for commuters as it is for active families is
a rare gem. Samson Place in Rainham is such a find. Situated
in a leafy, established residential area just off London Road
(A2), our select development is close to essential and leisure
services in this pleasant Medway town.
Rainham mainline station is within easy reach and offers
services to both London Victoria and St Pancras International
Station in under an hour, and to Ebbsfleet (also for Eurostar) in
just over half an hour. The local destinations available from
Rainham station include Dover Priory and Ramsgate.
The A2 connects about two miles south of Rainham with the
M2 providing easy access to Canterbury and the Kent coastal
resorts, while the also convenient M20 is the major artery to
Folkestone and its Eurotunnel services. The tunnel journey
from Ebbsfleet gets you to Calais within the hour.
This is, clearly, an outstanding location for the 21st century
lifestyle, in which proximity to Continental Europe is
increasingly seen as highly desirable.
Close to home
The Rainham Mark Grammar School is within walking distance
of our development while Thames View for younger children is
also quite close. There are other schools within reasonable
distance and nearby Gillingham offers further choice.
The town centre has a useful mix of retailers, including a Tesco
supermarket and Boots together with a number of
independents including a traditional fishmonger, baker and
butcher. There is also a good choice of eating places, from
pubs to an Italian restaurant. There is a library and several GP
practices in Rainham, while the nearest NHS hospital with A&E
department is Medway Maritime in Gillingham. A twice weekly
market is held in Gillingham. (Gillingham’s supermarkets
include Sainsbury’s and Somerfield)
Not far away from Samson Place is the popular Splashes
Leisure Pool in Bloors Lane, with its wave machines and flume.
Its big new rival is the Olympics inspired £11 million centre of
sporting excellence, Medway Park in Gillingham. Opened in
2010, this has swimming pools, a gym and facilities for racquet Rainham station
sports, track and field. It is also home to the world’s largest
trampolining club. A café and bar complete the complex.
Another pride of Gillingham is the region’s premier skating rink,
Silver Blades.
For outdoor recreation, Rainham has two country parks;
Riverside, with over 100 hectares alongside the Medway
Estuary, and nearby Berengrave Nature Reserve. Both have a
wide variety of habitats and support a wealth of wildlife,
especially birds.
Rainham has its own theatre, the Oasthouse, which puts on six
performances a year ranging from murder mysteries, musicals
and classical drama to pantomime.
Worth the journey
Chatham has two theatres, The Brook and The Central, as well
as an Odeon cinema, and there is a Cineworld a few miles on,
in Rochester. Chatham is, of course, best known for its Historic
Dockyards, a major tourist attraction in Medway, an area also
rich in English Heritage properties.
The most famous local resident was Charles Dickens, and the
Dickensian Christmas held at Rochester over the first weekend
of every December features his most memorable characters.
Other popular local events include the Medway Boat Race held
every May, and July concerts held in the grounds of Rochester
Castle.
Serious fashion shoppers are spoilt for choice, as Rainham is
almost equidistant between tempting Bluewater and the
Ashford Designer Outlet, both offering big names at
discounted prices.

Abbey New Homes is a subsidiary of Abbey plc whose
principal activities are residential housing development in the
UK, Ireland and the Czech Republic.
For two generations, the sales sign in front of our Abbey New
Homes developments has become a familiar sight in the South
East of England. With many thousands of homes and satisfied
customers to our credit, we continue to offer
‘Beautiful Homes, Attractively Priced’.
As a responsible developer we endeavour to
provide information that portrays as accurate
a picture as possible of your future home
and we would like to point out the following:
Whilst every care is taken to ensure
accuracy of all published material, we
reserve the right to amend or improve the
specification, materials, floor layouts and site
plans. Any alteration will be clearly shown on a separate sales
information sheet available in the site sales office. Please note
that interior images shown in this particular brochure are
indicative only and not taken from Abbey Developments
interiors.
The landscaping shown on the site layout is indicative of a
matured development and, as with all new developments, is
subject to approval by the Local Authority. The artist has also
tried to give some indication of how extra planting could be
used to enhance the appearance of your home. As we try to
provide as much variety as possible, the configuration of
homes, garage positions, brick colours, windows, external
treatments and levels can vary from plot to plot. We can
therefore only give typical illustrations.
Thank you for visiting Samson Place. If you require any further
information please refer to the site sales representatives who
will be happy to help you choose a house of which to be
proud.
