Beta Gamma Sigma is the international honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International -‐ The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International.

FORMAL RECOGNITION CEREMONY – US CHAPTERS 1. Ushers greet arriving guests with programs and direct them to the appropriate seating area. 2. Soft background music plays as these guests are seated by ushers and continues during the
processional of new members, special guests and faculty. 3. Processional and seating of new members. 4. Processional of guest speakers, faculty, and administrators. 5. Processional of the selected chapter officers conducting the recognition ceremony are led by the
Chapter President. 6. Welcome is extended by the Chapter President. They should briefly state the mission of Beta
Gamma Sigma and the purpose of the recognition ceremony, then introduce chapter officers at the head of the table to the guests.
a. Welcome: b. Mission: The Mission of the International Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma is to
encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business, to cultivate and celebrate leadership and professional excellence, to advance the values of the Society, and to serve its lifelong members.
7. The chapter officers should read the objectives a. Encourage and honor academic achievement by students of business and management
through chapters in business programs accredited by AACSB International b. Develop Beta Gamma Sigma members as student and professional leaders, and
celebrate continuing leadership and excellence c. Foster in Beta Gamma Sigma members an enduring commitment to the founding
principles and values of the Society: honor and integrity, pursuit of wisdom, earnestness, and service
d. Connect Beta Gamma Sigma student and alumni members to each other and to opportunities in their professional lives
8. Presentation of slide show including pictures of the chapter’s activities and service projects to reflect on the chapter’s history at your respective university.
9. Introduction of the guest speaker and their speech/presentation. 10. The Beta Gamma Sigma Ritual begins, as soft background music is being played. Please consult
the FORMAL RITUAL – US CHAPTERS. 11. Chapter President closes the ceremony and thanks everyone for attending. 12. At this time, all chapter officers should blow out the candles to signify the conclusion of the Beta
Gamma Sigma Ritual. 13. Soft background music is played as the recessional of the chapter officers, faculty and
administrators, guest speaker, and new members takes place. It is highly recommended that a brief reception follow.
