relevant skills
interestsOther than design, I like to look at new shoes online, take crazy perspective photos, try new stuff to eat, take joy rides, and take my beagle out for walks.
MESHo1 - IDEA SubmissionMESHo1 selected one of my projects to be submitted to the IDSA IDEA awards under the athletic category.
MESHo1 - Reebok Mens Basketball Shorts Took 2nd place in this hand sketch competition. The objective was to design three basketball shorts that look great and gave athletes the advantage to win.
achievements
professional goalTo work in a seasoned team that shares my passion for designing products centered around the human experience.
sling A kid’s shoe with an incredibly easy and untraditional way to slip it right on.
problem
As a kid I remember how stressful it was putting on my shoes and taking them off.
1. Shoes are hard to put on and kids just force their feet into them.2. Shoes are taken on and off throughout the day.3. It is tedious to put shoes on and takes a lot of time to lace them up.
exploration
The answer has always been laces or Velcro, but stretchable straps can make it more efficient.
final
• EASIER to pull shoe on
• FASTER secure fit
• FUN new way for kids
• SIMPLE materials
PAWtector Entrepreneur class reveals massive market to protect your Land Rover from your dog Rover.
I have a black car and it shows ALL the scratches on the door because of my dog. And all they have are these interior mats out on the market.
opportunity
Behind all the design and research, entrepreneurs must also understand the business side as well.
executive summary
PAWtector: Executive SummaryCost:materials $2600manufacturing $1000shipping $1500total $5100
Competition:Nothing out in the market. There are some that cover the interior but not the outside.
Capabilities:WashableDetachableFits any car
Channel:Social NetworksDog BoutiquesDog Events
Customer:Focused on anyone that owns a dog and lets them enjoy car rides.
Challenges:Calculating final cost for everything trying to hit an accurate estimate.
Future:If the product on kickstarter is successful, I plan to reach out to small pet shops, boutiques. If that works out then I would like to sell my product at larger companies such as Petco and Petsmart, and expand my brand with more products.

Plastic tabs to lock into the window sill
Cushion for comfort
Magnet strips to adhere to the door
scope Injecting the commodity vacuum with personality and performance.
The problem I found while researching existing products is that most vacuums look like cheap appliances.
Problem Statement
What form will benefit my needs to make an improved vacuum?
ideation
Conducted user testing to find if aesthetics follows function.
While using my sketches I found my direction of form. I used what I sketched to produce full sized mock ups to understand how a user interacted with it.

revisions
The hardest part was getting all the components to fit such as the batteries, motor, and dust bin.
model
Having a CAD model helped me make the appearance model.

tussle Using teamwork and sustainability to push the boundaries of an illuminated product line.
inspiration
We used geometric triangular shapesto make our products more cohesive later in the process.
In Philadelphia, we came up with 30 concepts in only two days. Back in San Jose we had to narrow it down to two final concepts.
mock ups
My group and I refined these three decisions, ultimately focusing on the first and second concepts.

branding
We researched each companies’ design language in order to relate our concepts to them.

tussle twist: The pencil holder/trash bin that can be used after a single twist which gives it its structure.
tussle lite: A portable lamp that will sit at any angle according to your comfort and use.
solidworks Experiment in reverse engineering reveals unexpected design lessons.
The challenge with the forms and surfaces of this shoe lies in its asymmetry. The details drew me in.
I knew designers don’t use CAD for shoes but it taught me that orthographics are important when getting them made.
