Welcome to Rezolution: Outbreak. This is the first supplement for the Rezolution miniatures game. The book is divided into three distinct sections:The first section details new assignments and adventures for your forces including the Outbreak storyline that takes you through some of the major events of January 2175, culminating in the dramatic events on the lunar city of Serenity. The series of storyline assignments, the Box from Beirut, is set before the main timeline of the Rezolution game and serves as a prequel to the events in Rezolution: A Dark Tomorrow and Rezolution: Shadow War (and features everyone’s favorite APAC boss, Hitomi!) In this section, there are also five stand-alone assignments; even though the storyline events are designed to be played in sequence, with minor adjustments all the assignments presented can be used as stand-alone games. The second section introduces an optional rules supplement to the Rezolution game that adds a whole new dimension to game play. Since the conception of Rezolution, campaign rules were always part of the master plan. As players have seen, Rezolution is a very story and mission oriented game and by using the standard campaign rules or the advanced Paycheck Campaign, you can now take it to the next level. Create your own characters and gain experience from every encounter – the world of 2175 is now truly in your hands! The third and final section of Rezolution: Outbreak introduces the fifth faction and a major player in the Rezolution story arc, the Vatacina. Their past is shrouded in mystery, and their future could hold the key to Mankind’s survival.

January 24, 2175 Angel’s fingers flew over her remote board as she desperately tried to override the system’s defenses. She was close to data that someone had gone to a lot of trouble to keep secret, and would surely be valuable to someone on this wreck of a cluster city. Rogues, fugitives, and crime lords populated Ikarus, long abandoned by the corporation who created it, and the denizens of which now consisted of Earth’s rejects and those who simply did not want to be found. As a mental blast from a protection program briefly stunned her, Angel steeled herself to the pain and pushed on. A moment later, the data was hers. “I’ve got it!” she said triumphantly as she logged out and put her remote board away. Angel was the leader of a Ronin group and this little victory would hopefully serve to keep them in money for a least a month. Her crew consisted of Bryce the Fist, Calvin the Fiddler, Murray the Shootist, and the other female of the group, Kim, a Dravani Shadow Assassin who had joined the group several months ago. Kim had a pacifist streak in her, but the rest of the team were typical Ronin, working for pay with no concerns about what they had to do to get it. Angel personally preferred to make her money stealing data and selling it to the highest bidder.“What did you get?” asked Calvin. “I hope it’s better than the last time when you downloaded old restaurant menus from The Lost Tiki Bar.” “Yeah well, everyone makes a mistake once in a while,” said Angel.“Hey, that mistake got me shot!” said Murray pointing to a scar on his arm. “You probably just shot yourself,” said Bryce.“Forget about the past, guys,” said Angel. “This time I got ship docking and manifest records for the entire cluster city. I’ll bet one of the crime lords would love to get his hands on this stuff.” Jackson Tazlo checked his nav computer and took manual control of the trading vessel, The Sinclair. It was really more of a pirate ship than a legitimate corporate commerce vehicle, and he mostly ran illegal weapons from Earth to the various cluster cities like Ikarus. He could get ten times their value there than from APAC or the CSO back on Earth, and sure there were risks, but the rewards were worth it.“Docking control says we are cleared for final

approach,” said Zack, Jackson’s first mate.“Thanks, I’m just going to guide her in nice and steady.” Angel had arranged a meeting with the most powerful crime lord boss in the city, Hitomi. Once a member of APAC, he had fallen out of favor with them and defected, along with most of his crew. APAC had a bounty on his head, but he was safe on the cluster city, where most of the inhabitants either had a price on their head too or were trying to keep out of sight. In a very short time, through guile and treachery Hitomi had clawed his way to the top of the heap on Ikarus, forcing the other crime lords to swear loyalty to him or leave the city. Angel had never dealt with him before, but was sure he would be very interested in what she had to offer. Loyalty one day could easily be rebellion the next and the top crime lord had to keep his edge over the others. They turned a corner and found a hallway arrayed with all the trappings of ancient Japan: samurai swords, suits of armor, along with fine oriental art that had disappeared from public sight hundreds of years ago. There were two large, brass doors inlaid with Japanese characters and the image of two huge dragons in combat with each other. A large brass gong was suspended from the ceiling near the door.“Shall I announce our arrival?” asked Calvin.“Sure, why not,” said Angel. “He probably knows we’re here anyway.”The Fiddler grasped a large hammer that was suspended next to the gong and struck the gong once, the sound reverberating throughout the hallway. The doors slid silently open before them. A red carpet covered a long, narrow hallway, at the end of which were two burly Enforcers, armed to the teeth with duel machine pistols, combat shotguns, 9mm pistols, and swords. Angel signaled her crew to hold their fire.“Your weapons, please,” the Enforcer’s tone was harsh. “Do what they say, it’s the only way we’ll be able to see Hitomi,” Angel handed over her weapons, as the second Enforcer moved to collect the weapons from the rest of her crew. “That too,” the Enforcer indicated Angel’s remote board.Angel hesitated, and then with a shrug of her shoulders, she complied.

The frown on Murray’s face indicated that the Shootist was none too pleased to be giving up his guns, but the rest of the crew seemed unconcerned. Angel knew she was taking a risk seeking an audience with Hitomi, but she had heard he followed the ancient Bushido Code and there would be no honor in slaying unarmed opponents. The Enforcers looked satisfied and stood back with their arms crossed as one of them bowed his head. Directly in front of Angel, a panel silently disappeared into the wall to reveal another hallway, and Angel and her team were motioned forward. The hallway opened up into a huge indoor palace.Calvin’s mouth dropped open. “Will you look at this, it’s amazing!”“Yeah, it is pretty impressive,” said Angel, as her eyes panned the room. The spacious room was draped with colorful tapestries, silk curtains, and ancient paintings. Several black-lacquered, low tables were strategically placed, as were cushions and pillows of all shapes and sizes. All sorts of vegetables, fruit, and delicacies (the real thing, not replicator junk) were piled up on trays and in bowls on stands. Whoever owned this place had really good connections and lots of money. A couple of Enforcer Heavies stood on each side of the room, armed with launchers, while a formidable looking Panther Securibot waited quietly at the back of the room. Angel spotted her counterpart, a Yuurei, sitting on the floor in front of one of the tables, checking her out. In the middle of the room, lounging on a golden throne, Hitomi awaited them. He was a slightly built, but formidable looking man, with long black hair tied in the back and dark eyes. Dressed in silk robes and wearing a samurai sword, he looked every bit as shrewd and deadly as his reputation.Hitomi wasted no time. “Well, you have something for me, little one?”Angel cringed at the label. “Possibly. Depends on what you’ll give me for it.”“And what makes you think I won’t just take it from you?” he replied, looking back towards his Panther.“I’ve heard you still live with honor so I hoped we could come to a profitable arrangement for both of us. I’m very good at getting information and would be happy to offer it to you first every time.”“Well spoken. One can never have enough information in a place like this.”Angel looked towards the Yuurei.“That one is Tia,” said Hitomi. He motioned her

towards Angel. “Come, partake of the food and my hospitality while Tia and I evaluate your information.”

Jackson’s approach toward the Ikarus docking bay was flawless as always. He prided himself on being one of the best cluster city trader pilots. He looked over at the countdown timer, showing seconds until docking completion. 58, 57, 56...“Jackson, a warning light just came on,” said Zack. “Your approach speed has just risen slightly above acceptable parameters.”“That’s funny, I didn’t accelerate. Run a scan.” He glanced at the timer and it jumped from 50 to 40, 39, 38...“Tests are negative. The engines are working normally, but accelerating.” An audible alarm sounded as more warning lights flashed. The com crackled to life. “Trader vessel Sinclair. This is Ikarus approach. Your speed is too fast. Collision is imminent. Abort your docking. Repeat. Abort docking at once or we will be forced to fire on you!”“Do something Jackson!” screamed Zack. “Their targeting computers have lit us up!”Jackson scrambled feverishly, struggling with controls and smashing buttons with his fists. “The ship won’t respond to anything. It’s out of my control!”He looked at the countdown timer. 20, 19, 18... He thought of the load of black-market explosives and rockets on board with which he had planned to make a fortune. He was always saying it was just one more trip and then he could retire. No more trips. This was the end.Ikarus opened fire on the Sinclair, but it deftly evaded the blasts though not through Jackson’s skill. It accelerated again rapidly, slamming into the docking bay, where the explosives ignited. Jackson felt a brief sensation of heat before his body burst into a million molecules. Angel and Tia were doing an information transfer when a loud explosion rocked the cluster city. The floor shook and several paintings fell from the walls, their frames shattering as they hit the ground. A second, larger explosion occurred and this time the room shook violently. Hitomi was wrenched from his throne and slammed onto the ground. Everyone standing was now strewn around the floor, only the Panther Securibot remained fixed in place.“What was that?” Angel shouted as she tried to pick herself up. “I don’t know,” Calvin scrambled upright, “but it wasn’t good.”
