President’s Message Loretta Turner
President, Tulsa Post
Wow! November is here and the end of the year and my term as Post President is rapidly coming to an end. It is amazing how quickly this year has passed, and what a successful year we have had. Everything from hosting a very successful regional conference, performing community service at Lake Oologah, having fun with young members at Dave & Buster’s, to hearing some outstanding presentations on combat engineering, transportation engineering, and updates on plans for the ARRA funding. I would like to extend my gratitude to the new Deputy Commander of Tulsa District, LTC Snyman, for taking time last month to brief us on his mission and activities while serving our country in Iraq. The end of the year and beginning of a new year and Board direction is approaching fast and to prepare for this we will be hosting our 2nd annual Strategic Planning meeting on Thursday, November 19. This will be open to any and all members wishing to have a say in next year’s plans and assist with some great ideas for the future of our post. The meeting will be held at McNellie’s Public House, Downtown Tulsa, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Snacks will be provided by Cyntergy AEC. Beverages are on your own. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for Thursday, December 3rd to attend our Holiday Social at Centennial Center at Central Park here in Tulsa. Our gift to you this year is to not ask for sponsors. There will be a charge per person and you can reserve your spot and pay online. Just go to our webpage at www.same.org/tulsa. Loretta Turner 2009 Tulsa Post President
