As you all know, ‘Spreading Happiness’ is the mission of our company.

No company can prosper, without any motivating force behind it. Normally most companies work hard, to enhance their financial position. But in our case, we have thought slightly differently: "We want to earn money, but why do we want to earn money?"

With help of the well-wishers of our company, we reflected deeply and came to a unanimous conclusion that "the happiness of all" is what is our chief goal.

We all work hard at Samarth Diamond, and after all, our happiness

Let’s Come Together And Spread The Light Of Happiness In Our Lives!

BRIGHTNESS OF WORDS

It is so well-said,

“Eat half,

you normally do

and increase your

laughter dose by

four times."

If we learn how to

keep calm, and not

lose our composure

against an angry

behavior, we will

definitely have no

enemy.

Laugh your heart

out for ten to

fifteen minutes

everyday. See for

yourself as to what

miracle you unfold

by this.

means the very happiness of our families. The first step in that direction is ‘Samarth Setu’.

Well, all of us work together; be it a seminar, a workshop or training and there is no reason why our families should not join and be a part of our activities.

This newsletter will connect them with us. ‘Samarth Setu’ would be a wonderful medium enabling us or giving us an opportunity to exchange

our views, thoughts and share our happiness among each other.

This is not merely a newsletter or a mouthpiece of our company, but it is a platform through which we can enlighten all by regularly adding any new or useful information that any of us has to share.

‘Samarth Setu' is a medium to spread happiness. May ‘Samarth Setu’ keep us closely connected for eternity!

As you all know, our company deducts the amount of Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) every month from the salary of all the employees. A co-worker presented a few basic questions regarding EPF and here is the information about the same in the form of the answer thereof.

EPF is a very well-known tool of savings for all the salaried people. It is conducted by Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), Government of India. Our company is registered with the EPFO. EPF assures financial stability and security for every worker. Stipulated part of a worker’s salary is deposited to that and a part in the same proportion is deposited to it by the company as well. A major saving can be done this way in the long run. Where do we get information about EPF in our company?

Contact Help Desk of the HR Department, Extension number 311.Can we get proof of the deposited amount in EPF?

The worker has to register his mobile number in the company and thereby one can get details of deposited amount in the EPF through SMS. It is mandatory to use just one mobile no.How to avail EPF if a worker withdraws some amount from the EPF or leaves the company?

As per the current norms of the Government, the amount of EPF gets deposited to the salary/savings bank account of the employee within a period of three to four months. Can one get receipt of EPF?

One can get the receipt as and when the Government uploads the receipts on the EPFO portal at the end of a financial year.

Primary Information About Employees’ Provident FundEPF is a very efficacious medium of regular and compulsory savings for a salaried individual.

We have set this goal after long and hard reflection. The reason behind this goal is obvious. We want to multiply the happiness that we have by sharing it with as many as possible.

If we work very hard, we will receive more and thereby earn that much more but the very climax of our satisfaction is far beyond that. Our vision is a farsighted one. We want all those to be happy whoever is connected with us in one or the other way and in this way the light of happiness would spread in the entire society in the longer run.

This task can be accomplished only if we be united.

Our Vision 2020: 20,000

Happy Families By The Year 2020

The hard work of all of us would be genuinely worth, if we can make the process of polishing diamonds the medium of spreading happiness in our lives.

A Unique Training On RelationsPinakin Parikh shares here the experiences and the lessons from the training organised for the senior workers of the company

Life is nothing but the • predicate of relations. Our life thrives on our • relations. Take such care of • the elements lying in relations that they sustain our relations. ‘Accept one as one is’ • and think in the direction of strengthening your relations with him. We may not derive or • get everything as per our expectations from all relations.

Always stick to the • principle, “If it is my need or requirement, I must take the initiative.”Always be an eternal • giver. Always have clarity about our expectations from the others and give final shape to your expression accordingly. Conversation works • like oxygen in the life of relations. Each relationship needs time to grow, flourish and sustain itself.

Sincerely maintained • relations do grow into maturity. For this one must know that none is mortal on this earth and hence, don’t buy time in expressing yourself. No one is bad. • Circumstances have a bearing upon the behavior of a person and hence the circumstances of a person should be taken into consideration before picking up the complain.

The understanding about ‘Relations’

Core of Training

CommunicationIt is a foundation of relations.

Frank communication can flourish healthy relations.

ContributionWithout any expectations,

believe in giving to all. Only this way one can strengthen relations.

CareAccept everyone as he/she is.

Care for them and see your relations grow forever.

A training programme on 'Relations' under the kind guidance of well-known management trainer Shri Sureshbhai Patel was organised for the senior workers of the company on 8th and 9th January, 2015. The venue for the programme was Kruti-Trupti Training Centre at Kothasana.

The trainer - who is now a member of our family - Shri Sureshbhai had designed the entire programme in a thoughtful way. The programme was divided into four parts. Five teams were arranged from among the trainees. Each team had performed its responsibilities voluntarily and hence the programme was a huge success. The harmony among the subject, venue, ambience, teachers and trainees was so good that it

couldn’t be described in words. At the outset, Shri Sureshbhai

threw ample light on ‘What is life?’ Throughout the programme, he presented his views so easily

that the very point of view of looking at life changed. He

used different media to explained the subject. The ‘Cross-checking’ process continued

throughout and hence it was easy for everyone

to understand. All the necessary facilities regarding the programme were provided at the training centre by the company. A lot was learnt from the programme which I present to you in my own words.

SPORTS

The Company Unit-4 organised a Volleyball Tournament at Satlasna from February 19th to March 19th, 2015. Total 6 teams (Office Department, Table Department, Coning Department, Russian Department, Coning-2 Department and Polish Department) participated enthusiastically.

There were exciting battles among all the teams to find a spot in the final and in the end, the final was played between the Russian Department and the Coning Department on 19th March, 2015.

The final match was played in total four sets. The first set was easily won by the Russian Department. In the second set, the Coning Department, despite playing aggressively and fighting hard, could not win it.

There were a few moments during the second set that the ball hadn’t touched the ground continuously for four to five minutes and that had

raised the joy and enthusiasm of the spectators to a different level.

During the third set, the Coning Department team played very skillfully and tactfully, and it not only made a come back in the game but also won it. During the fourth set, both the teams showed a lot of intent. The spectators thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the game.

At the end of the fourth set, the Russian Department won the match. Thus the Russian Department won the four set game by 3-1. The team was awarded a trophy as well.

Manekdada who had come to watch the match had enjoyed it too and he was drawn back to his childhood days. Praising the game of both the teams and recollecting his childhood memories, he said that he too used to play the game of volleyball in his village Kothasana. Thus the Volleyball Tournament ended in the atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm.

A Book That Provides The Address Of Happiness

Our company has a tradition of giving a noble book in the form of good wishes of Diwali. The company strongly desires that one’s ability of thinking clearly should be strengthened for one’s progress. Moreover, if a book is given to a worker in stead of sweets, sweetness would be spread in their lives in the real sense. Our company has a well-cultivated library as well. We will keep ourselves informed about various worth-reading books here.

BOOKSHELF

A hot-headed person would pray to God • to avert the disquiet and unrest in the house, but how can even God avert the disquiet and unrest that is self-created? There is no superior prayer than a calm • and composed nature. People take up quarrels and after • that they take medicines to lower the resultant high blood pressure. There is no superior medicine of lowering • the blood pressure than tolerance or self-restraint. People rush to the astrologers to overcome the poverty that • they have invited due to their lazy nature or unwillingness to work hard. Only hard work can change your fortune.

How simple yet efficacious matters these are! The book ‘Ghar E J Swarg’ written Shri Shrutpragya Swami has quite easy answers to the daily issues and that too in a very simple language. The book guides us to find the way out of the quarrels and unrest that take place due to differences in the nature of different people. It also throws ample light as to how we can live together in unity and happily.

Happiness Lies In Our Hands Only! "Every individual on this earth is in search

of eternal happiness. It doesn’t lie in amenities, entertainment, respect or disrespect or praise but in one’s understanding. The choice definitely lies in our hands. "

We are the architect of our own fortune but we give in before circumstances by following negative thoughts. The book ‘Badhi J Baji Avavli Pade Tyare’ written by Shri Suresh-Alka Prajapati teaches us as to how we can identify negative thoughts and lead our lives to happiness by traveling through the ways of positive thinking, breaking the shackles of negative thoughts.

The authors explain a simple principle by

comparing life with the game of chess, saying that the game of chess can’t be won merely by advancing in it. Sometimes a couple of backward steps may pave for us a better and clearer way ahead. Life too is no different.

The diverse chapters of the book have references of our day to day experiences and they are explained in a very simple way as to how we can march ahead in life by taking calculative risks and changing the point of views.

(Our company has gifted both of these books to every employee and we hope that the books been read by all.)

Page 6: Samarth Setu · of Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) every month from the salary of all the employees. A co-worker presented a few basic questions regarding EPF and here is the information

1. Balanced Diet: The first and the foremost area of concern for health is diet. Body is not a dust bin. A good balance of Carbohydrates (Glucose), Protein and Fat is necessary to keep the body healthy. We get the required amount of sugar from different grains. Pulses are important for Protein. It is a building block for one’s body. Fat too is necessary in the right proportion. It is a wrong belief that one should refrain from eating oily food. What is to be understood is to know which oily food should be eaten, which oil should be used and the ideal proportion of oily food. Butter, Ghee can be taken but the digestion of the same is of utmost necessity and for that one has to be physically hardworking to burn the calories.

We have no control over the diseases that we inherit from our forefathers but we can definitely determine and if necessary modify our life style. All the required nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc etc should be in our diet. B-Complex and Vitamin D are also equally necessary. We get the supplementary minerals from milk, fruits and vegetables. We should have enough Vitamin D as well and the sun rays provide it gratis.

We can also have nutritional food supplements if we do not get adequate nutrition from regular food.

2. Proper rest: Converse with your family members after the day’s hard work, go for a walk, and spend some time with your friends. We watch TV even while taking our meals! Don’t watch violent shows before going for sleep. It is very necessary that our mind is calm before we go to sleep which will in turn ensure good sound sleep. We will be able to wake up with our mind and body fully relaxed and refreshed.

3. Proper exercise: One must do brisk walking for thirty minutes at least for four days a week. (If you don’t have that much time, take or use stairs instead of using lifts or escalators.) Cycling is very necessary in particular. The left and the right organ are connected with the right and the left organ of your brain respectively. The left part of the brain deals with calculations. The right part of the brain deals with feelings. Proper exercise would ensure effective activation and balance of both the parts of the brain. Cycling, Walking and Swimming are such type of coordination exercises.

Three Important Things To Remain Healthy!

Good health is a pre-requisite for a happy life. Even the World Health Organization has changed the definition of health. Formerly, only absence of illness was believed to be good health but now both physical and mental fitness are equally important parameters for good health. What should one do to achieve both mental and physical fitness? The Management Trainer Shri Sureshbhai Patel has thrown ample light on Balanced Diet, Sufficient Rest and Exercise in a lecture which was in reference to the art of living. We will try to know more about other aspects about health on this page.

Good Health

06

“Health means one’s attainment of poise in the self. If we can attain poise in the self, we can remain healthy. Body may fall ill but a good and healthy life means taking utmost care that our existence doesn’t fall ill!”

with each passing day and we attained everything from Samarth that even our education or family or the society couldn’t provide. The disorder in life gradually disappeared and a systematic order took its place and that too with good virtues. Those virtues were handed down to my family and are distinctly witnessed in my children too.

Then came an unfortunate day in my life. I had brain hemorrhage on 7th July, 2011, Thursday. My family consulted a doctor but he was a specialist in the heart diseases and I had an ailment of brain. Dineshbhai rushed to the hospital. Sensing the situation, he knew that I had to be taken to Ahmedabad. It was a holiday in the company. Without waiting for the driver, he himself drove me to Ahmedabad and got me treated by an expert doctor. Then I was

I Gathered Courage And Was Back To Work Again! The trust of its workers is the real capital of any company. One such precious worker of our company Shri Khemabhai Ganeshbhai Prajapati shares his valuable experiences here….

Vishalkumar, the son of Shri Ashokbhai Lilachand Darjee currently working as the Shop Floor Manager in our company, passed in the exams of Std. 12 Science with 90% and stood first in the entire centre of Visnagar by scoring 105 marks out of 120 marks in GUJCET exam. He has got

admission in the MBBS of B. J. Medical College of Ahmedabad. Currently he is heading towards a bright career after securing 67% in the first year MBBS. Vishal aspires to design a career in Cardiology. Here the entire Samarth family wishes Vishal all the best for his aspirations to be a noble and expert doctor and he may remain active in the social services in the days to come.

The Pride Of Samarth Family

07

It was 1966. The boat of my life was about to get drown in the tornado of meager income and tall expenses. I used to polish diamonds in the day time and do sewing work at night. I used to live a simple life. The educational expenses were little as the children were young. Still, it was difficult to make both ends meet. In the mean time, a letter from Shri Dashrathbhai arrived and he wrote about his new business. I was happy and my faith in the God flourished as the God always paves the way for those who want to work whole-heartedly and devotedly.

Both my wife and I decided to come to Visnagar. When I informed about this to Shri Dashrathbhai, he sent us the train tickets on his own and thus we stepped into the place called Samarth at 9 in the morning on 31st March, 1997. Enthusiasm and happiness grew

shifted to a hospital of Visnagar for 26 days. Shri Dineshbhai and my son Navneet were by my side throughout the entire treatment. I was cured and given courage to be back to my work. It is difficult to overcome such disease but Dineshbhai always believed that nothing is impossible. My family had taken a vow to offer specific thing to deity if I recovered but I had infinite faith in Dineshbhai. There are numerous such examples of my life at Samarth.

An aalekhan.com Creation

Did you hear about the lawyer who was presented with a plumber's bill? He said to the plumber, "Hey, you're charging me two hundred dollars an hour. I don't make that kind of money as a lawyer." The plumber said, "I didn't make that kind of money when I was a lawyer either!" You could be a plumber or a lawyer or a business man or a priest, but that does not affect the essential "I." It doesn't affect you... Are you your name? Are you your profession? Stop identifying with them. They come and go.

When you really understand this, no

criticism can affect you. No flattery or praise can affect you either.

Do you want to be happy? Uninterrupted happiness is uncaused. True happiness is uncaused. You cannot make me happy. You are not my happiness. You say to the awakened person, "Why are you happy?" And the awakened person replies, "Why not?" Happiness is our natural state.
