The Salter Disposable Spirometer is used at the bedsideto accurately measure pulmonary variablesassociated with screening, monitoring, andweaning patients. Because of its unique design,Salter Disposable Spirometer replaces the lessefficient and non-disposable equipment usuallyassociated with respiratory care. It is neithertemperamental, nor expensive as are manyother volume collection devices. With the SalterDisposable Spirometer, the clinician can easilyand repeatably monitor life support system vol-umes, screen patients for therapy, and have aneffective means to wean patients by accuratelytracking the physiologic parameters. The SalterDisposable Spirometer can be used to determine thefollowing pulmonary data on most patients: VT,VE, VC,FVC, VC/FVC, End Tidal Sampling, Inspiratory andExpiratory Pressures and even mean expiratory flowcan be estimated by using a stop watch. Universaladapters permit the above to be measured via mouth,Endotracheal Tube, Tracheostomy Tube, IntermittentPositive Pressure Breathing Machine (IPPB) or Ventilatormanifold and Tubing.
