Salesmen’s Corner – Hurricane Update

“Hurricane Harvey was devastating to South Texas and while Irma had

more wind damage, we had a lot more rain and flooding. The rain fall set a

record in one town south of Houston @ 51.88 inches! Also, more than

200,000 structures were flooded and 500,000 cars! Glad we're not in the

insurance business! We had 10 golf courses flood and 6 of those had water

in the maintenance facility. Rollers survive these floods pretty well, because

of small engines and very little electrical components. However, we do have

a few opportunities. I would think Florida could use a few chippers.

The Wilderness in Lake Jackson ,TX flood last year. (Following are)a

couple of pictures on how they saved the equipment fleet and golf carts this

year. Also, Raveneaux CC in spring (about 20mins from my house) had 8

feet of water in their maintenance barn! I have attached a picture I took. You

will see a water line on a white bucket on top of the lockers. That's

“A quick report on the Irma part of the

story here in South Carolina. We still

have lots of areas with no power, roads

closed because of trees down and I 95

that continues to be a parking lot that

extends from the North Carolina border

to somewhere in Florida. Florida

reports are still being accessed. The

further south you go the worse it is with

both wind and water damage. I have

talked with all of my dealers and no one

is reporting any kind of human losses

only things that can be replaced.

So with that we can all be thankful that

this monster storm that affected 11

states could have been much worse. My

wife and I simply got our few important

items and fled for safety. We hope

things will begin to get back to normal

soon. ”

Selling Against the Competition
