Katie Melua was born on September 16, 1984 in Kutaisi. She is a Georgian-British singer, songwriter and musician. She moved to Northen Ireland at the age of 8 and then to England at 14.

Career

Melua is signed to the small Dramatic record label, under the management of composer Mike Batt, and made her musical debut in 2003. In 2006, she was the United Kingdom’s best selling female artist and Europe’s higheat selling European female artist.

HobbiesMelua is occasionally referred to as an “adrenaline junkle” because she enjoys roller coasters and funfairs and often paradigles and hang glides

Personal life

MarriageIn July, 2012 Melua confirmed her engagement to the world’s super bike racer James Toseland. The couple married on September 1, 2012 in the Nash Conservatory at the Royal Botanic gardens in London.

AlbumsMelua’s first debut album was called ‘Call of the search” was released on November 3, 2003. Melua’s second album “Piece by piece” was released on September 26, 2005. Her lead single was “Nine million bicycles” which was released a week before the album on September 19, and was number 3 in the UK singles chart.
