NEW WOUND CENTER DIRECTOR Ashley Fuller has accepted the Program Director role for the Advanced Wound Center, a position she will assume on November 16th. Ashley had been a valued member of Clinch Valley Health since joining Preferred Home Health in May 2008. Since this time, Ashley’s clinical expertise and leadership ability have propelled her from case manager to nursing manager, and ultimately to the administrator role, a position she has held since September 2011. Through Ashley’s many accomplishments, she has gained respect among her peers and the medical staff for her commitment to our patients and ensuring they receive safe, comprehensive and compassionate care once discharged from the hospital setting. We are indeed very fortunate to have Ashley head our Wound Center.

NEW ER CARE COORDINATOR

We are pleased to announce our new Emergency Room Care Coordinator is Robin Jones, RN. Robin is a Registered Nurse with 15 years of experience primarily in Emergency Nursing, Flight Nursing, and Nursing Supervisor Positions.

EVENT RECAP

A total of 246 employees and family members came out to the Clinch Valley Health BINGO night on October 15th. Many prizes and food were given out, but best of all we were able to donate a total of $841 to the Tazewell Animal Rescue Coalition, all thanks to each of you who attended!

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT GROUP-UPDATES-The Employee Engagement Group has completed the MOB Break Room project. It is equipped with a microwave, toaster oven, toaster, sink, refrigerator, TV, and tables/chairs for seating. It is located on the basement floor of the MOB.

The Clinch Valley Health Employee Advisory Group is a formal committee developed to work as a liaison for its organization and employees. The EAG aims to maximize employee relations, provide a healthy work environment, and to recognize employees by giving them a voice and influence in matters affecting them and the environment in which they work.

NEW CERTIFICATIONS-CONGRATULATIONS-

Melissa Stacy and Tena Brown passed their Certified Professional Coder, which is a very hard test to pass especially with the hours they put in at work and the additional hours of studying, this is a great accomplishment.

LEAPFROG SCORE-GREAT WORK-Clinch Valley Medical Center has received its most recent grade of an “A” from Leapfrog. This is great news! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to this organization and your community in providing top quality care in the safest environment possible to all our patients.

Pink Fridays

Every Friday in October employees wore pink to spread awareness and show their support for Breast Cancer. An information table was also set up in the hospital lobby to provide patients and hospital visitors with educational materials.

Oct. 16-MAMMO DAY

The Women’s Center and Project Search Students provided a table of refreshments and informational materials for employees and patients to learn more about the importance of mammograms.

WCYB Live Segment

Melissa Robinette and Trena Blair went live on WCYB to talk about the importance of breast cancer screenings from bothpersonal and clinical viewpoints.
