Congregational Leadership Seminar

Salisbury District CLMs (Certified Lay Ministers)

attended the Congregational Leadership Seminar at

Camp Pecometh last week.

Pictured are: Eloise Henry Gordy, Don Mulholland, and Bonnie Stone.

The Certificate in Congregational Leadership (CCL) Program combines workshop and online learn-ing to provide a comprehensive approach to developing leadership excellence in the local church. Susan’s Reflections I attended the Yoga and Silent Spiritual Retreat in July at Camp Pecometh, and it was awesome. One of the things we practiced was "mindfulness," or being fully aware in your surroundings. The first morning of the retreat, I was up and walking across the cornfield as the sun rose on a beautiful summer morning. Later, I was moved to write the following:

My Silent Walk for Awareness

Slow walking, grass crunching underfoot, Soaring hawks, peace and quiet, Pene-trating warmth of the sun, Birds chirp-ing, wild raspberries bursting, Sparkling ribbon of river, running fast, River exhal-ing the breath of tidewater marsh, Lap-ping of waves, sand between my toes, Boats in the distance, blue sky and sun-shine.

What are the signs of Your presence, of Your grace as I look over my day? Susan Peacock Asbury UMC Salisbury, MD

Thank-you Susan!
