Sako was born in 1921. Original Finnish name or the company was Suojeluskuntain Ase-ja Konepaja

Osakeyhti.(Firearms and Mashine workshop o the Civil Guard) The company was established to make

and maintain the frearms that were used by the men in Finlands newborn Civil Guard.Finland had

achieved independence in 1917,and voluntary Civil Guard had an important role in maintaining de-

ence readiness or the young Nation.The frearms were mostly old military ries, needing repair,re-

barreling and service. Soon acilities in Finlands capital Helsinki showed to be too small,and Sako was

relocated to a small town Riihimki,about 75 km (46 miles) North o Helsinki,in 1927.

Besides military ries,also ries or competition and hunting were designed. Prototypes o sporting

ries were designed and made already in 1930, but actual small caliber hunting ries designed and

made in Riihimki emerged during the 2.World War.L-42 was born, and urther developed to L46 ater the war.This small game centerfre rie became

a world success.Sako was tested in several magazines and ound the best production rie right out o the box.Soon Sako developed larger bolt actionsporters,L579 Forrester,L61R FinnbearandVL 63 Lever action Finnwolwere added to the Flocko fne Sako hunting ries.

In 1993 proessional rie designers decided to develop a dream rie or devoted riemen.Four years designers,metallurgist,product engineers and

marketing department worked to develop and test and shoot the new rie that evolved into the Sako 75.The year o introduction marked Sakos 75th

anniversary.Full line o 5 dierent action sizes, detachable magazines,ergonomical stock,and various models emerged.Calibers ranged rom 222 Rem

all the way up to 416 Rem.Mag.On top o the 75 models was 80th Anniversary Saari rie ,made in 375Holland &Holland caliber.

90 Years o Accuracy

Sako TodaySako has come a long way since the humble beginning.Today our design department is ully

computerized,all steel parts are made by the latest state o the art CNC machining.Some things

have not changed: we inspect barrels by human eye, and we shoot every rie manually with proo

rounds and or accuracy.All o our ries comply with C.I.P & SAAMI requirements.

In the turn o the Millenium,Sako became an honored member o the Beretta Group.

This gave Sako resources or even better product development and market response.

Model Sako 85 was developed , based on the vast experience o modernizing the bolt action rie.

Further,model A7 was developed to give hunters to purchase an entry lever frst class Sako rie.

We also developed the Sako Quad, worlds frst rimfre bolt action rie, with interchangeable

barrels in 4 dierent rimfre calibers,or small game hunters and varminters.Sako Ltd.has become

a respected manuacturer o military and law-enorcement ries. Our TRG 22/42 and Tikka TAC

are in active service duty around the world.Tikka hunting ries are made by Sako Ltd.in Finland

and have many hunting riends as well.

Today our line o Sako 85 ries is still adding an important 6th action size.90 years Anniversary is

beginning with Saari ries in cal 450 Rigby.Accuracy,reliability ja honest working ries are our

The Sako 85 actions are available in 6 dierent sizes (CSA),providing

the very best unctions or each cartridge size.All Sako 85 models eature

controlled cartridge eed (RCS) to virtually eliminate double eeding

or cartridge jam.The Sako turnbolt handle gives natural hand position

during bolt operation, which allows very quick repeated ring.

single-set trigger is also available or

most Sako 85 models.The trigger o

the Sako 85 rifes is protected by an

extremely durable,steel trigger guard.

elevation and rear blade in windage.

All Sako 85 models have ree-foating barrels manuactured by Sako

specialists.Barrel blanks are drilled,honed, cold-hammer orged and nished,

and nally individually inspected by complex and highly rened optical

ne tuning instrument:the huma n eye.Twist rate is chosen or each caliber

to optimize accuracy and bullet perormance.The Sako 85 barrels,blued or

stainless,have non-refecting,satin-like surace except the Sako 85 Deluxe

model that comes with highly polished metal parts.The Sako 85 stainless

steel barrels are made rom stainless steel with raised chromium content or

better weather resistant and durability.

The Sako 85 Walnut stock ergonomics are optimized

to quarantee the best shooting posture.Excellent

balance and smooth bolt operation make straight,
