Thank you & God Bless PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS
Loving God, You speak to us and nourish us through the life of this church community.
In the name of Jesus, we ask you to send your Spirit to us so that men and women among us, young and old, will respond to your call to service and leadership in the church.
We pray, especially, in our day, for those who hear your invitation to be a priest, sister, brother, or deacon.
May those who are opening their hearts and minds to your call be encouraged and strengthened through our enthusiasm in your service. Amen

Please note that on Monday, October 2nd through Thursday, October 5th we will only celebrate the 8:00 am. All who regularly attend the 6:30am Mass are invited to join the 8:00am Mass. A PRAYER FOR PRIESTS
Keep them, I pray Thee, dearest Lord, Keep them, for they are Thine - Thy priests whose lives burn out before Thy consecrated shrine. Keep them, for they are in the world, Though from the world apart; When earthly pleasures tempt, allure, Shelter them in Thy heart, Keep them, and comfort them in hours Of loneliness and pain, When all their life of sacrifice For souls seems but vain, Keep them, and O remember, Lord, They have no one but Thee, Yet they have only human hearts With human frailty. Keep them as spotless as the Host, That daily they caress; Their every thought and word and deed Deign, dearest Lord, to bless.
Amen
Lifeteen Music Ministry Welcome to our new Leader for the Lifeteen Music Ministry
Jessica Sowinski is our new Lifeteen Music Ministry Lead for the Sunday 5:00 pm Mass. She is a familiar name and face to many of us as she used to sing and play piano with the Lifeteen band while she was in high school. She received her Associates degree in Music from Sierra College and will be continuing her education at a Cal State School. Jessica has also been assisting with the music for weddings and funerals at St. Rose for the last 3 years.
Interested in joining the Lifeteen Music Ministry?
We are currently looking for others to join the Lifeteen music ministry. Jessica is inviting any teen or young adult interested in ministry work to come talk with her after the 5 o’clock Sunday Mass or you may contact her via email, [email protected]. If you have any musical gift, whether that’s playing an instrument, reading music, or you just love to sing, she would love to chat with you about joining the program. You just might have a gift that God is calling you to share with the parish community. Jessica looks forward to speaking with you!
Rehearsals will be on Thursday nights

REFLECTION FOR SUNDAY’S READING CALL UPON THE LORD
The very first line of today's first reading summons us to seek the Lord and to call upon God. This sentiment is echoed in the refrain for today's responsorial psalm: "The Lord is near to all who call upon him" (Psalm 145:18a). Saint Paul is the embodi-ment of someone who constantly sought the Lord. In the ex-cerpt we read today from his letter to the Philippians, we find Saint Paul toward the end of his life, a life he describes as com-pletely consonant with Christ. He writes, "For to me life is Christ" (Philippians 1:21). To find out what it means to live life completely in accord with Christ we need look no further than today's Gospel. There we find that God's love and mercy are immeasurable for all those who seek and call upon the Lord. (c) Copyright, J. S. Paluch Co.

Questions about an Annulment? “If my former spouse does not participate, an annulment is impossible to get.” The former spouse has a right to participate in a case. However, if he/she does not participate in a formal case, the case still moves forward. Some types of cases do require the participation of the former spouse. Depending on your situation, the Tribunal determines the best possible way to proceed. For more information or direction for a possible annulment, contact Deacon Mark at (916) 783-5211 x7014 or by e-mail, [email protected].
“Prayer is joy, prayer is love, prayer is peace. You cannot explain it, you must experience prayer.
It is not impossible. God gives if for the asking. ‘Ask and you shall receive.’
The father knows what to give his children - how much more our heavenly father knows.”
