Prayer of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most
Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things and I desire
to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace you as if you were already there,
and unite myself wholly to you.
Never permit me to be separated from you.
Amen.
Second Collection, September 13th

to support Christians living in the Holy Land

Due to the pandemic caused by the Corona virus, it was not
possible to take up the Good Friday Collection dedicated to
supporting Christians living in the Land of Jesus. We will have
separate baskets at Mass for this collection. If you are mailing in
your donation, just make a note that it is for the benefit of the
Holy Land.

The collection in favor of the Holy Land is a small gesture of
solidarity that the whole Church is called to make in order to
support the Christian communities that are in the Holy Land.
Thank you for your support!

form be sent to you.
Remembering 9/11

Almighty God,
Even as the painful memories of 9/11 are seared into our hearts,
we hold fast to the hope that even now
springs forth from the ashes.
We pray for those still suffering from loss or injury
as a result of the tragic events of that day.
Let us never forget those who risked or
lost their lives to save others.
Their sacrifices and love represent the best in humanity,
and the path to which Christ still calls each of us.
As we continue to honor those that died, may we honor them
by being loving neighbors to all
toward building a lasting peace through Jesus Christ. Amen

Mass will take place inside the church following
social distancing guidelines.)
CELEBRATE THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR

Students are invited to attend Mass to celebrate the beginning
of a new year of learning. The students are encouraged to
bring their backpacks to Mass
and have them blessed.

TwentyFourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Jesus tells us we should forgive “seventy times seven,” which
really means always. Then, as he likes to do, Jesus tells a
story to explain what he means. How disappointing that the
official in today’s Gospel could not forgive others as he was
forgiven by the king. Is God like the king?
Matthew 18:2135 How do you feel about forgiveness? Is it
easy or hard for you to forgive? ~Family Faith on the Go

Forgiveness Prayer

Lord, please help me to remember the power of forgiveness, and
please help me to extend this to (insert name). I know what it
means to forgive, and I know all of the things you have forgiven
me for, but the pain sometimes makes it difficult to forget and
at moments, to forgive. Please help me to move past what was
said and done by filling my heart with forgiveness for (insert
name). Please help me to focus on the importance of
relationships and give us all strength to get back to a better
place. In the name of your son, Jesus I pray. Amen

Today is Grandparents Day!
To recognize an important part of your family, spend some
time socially distant with your grandparents. If they live too
far away, make an oldfashioned phone call to share
conversation.

Thank you all who attended our prayer service Sunday evening,
calling out to the God who saves to end this pandemic. For
those who joined us in person and those who joined us online,
the beauty in the evening lies with you and with your prayers.
We thank you for your presence. There is great power in prayer
and the love that rises up within it and united we can
accomplish great things.

Of course, behind any successful event lies the community
which comes together to enable it to happen. In that light, we
would like to thank all those involved Sunday evening: those
involved in the planning and setup, the scouts and young
neighbors who helped with the fire and greeting, the band
who gifted us with beautiful worship music, all those who
participated in our procession and all who contributed their
voiceincluding John Zawacki, for his moving reflection and all
those who read our prayers and petitions. A powerful sign of
the fullness of our St. Rose family: gathered in diversity, united
in love you enriched our prayer by offering your gifts of time
and talent and we thank you.

Blessed Are You Who Bear the Light
By Jan Richardson

Blessed are you
Who bear the light
In unbearable times,
Who testify to its endurance
Amid the unendurable,
Who bear witness to its persistence
When everything seems
In shadow
And grief.

Blessed are you
In whom the light lives,
In whom the brightness blazes
Your heart
A chapel,
An altar where
In the deepest night
Can be seen
The fire that

A Prayer for Grandparents

Dear God, Please bless our Grandparents.
Thank you for the life they gave my parents and
for the life they give me.
For the ways they helped me and made me strong,
I give thanks.
For the ways they love me no matter what, I rejoice.
For the ways they have paved the road that leads me here,
I am grateful.
Let them grow in wisdom and joy in life.
Let them find peace and rest from their work.
Let them be healed of every sickness and pain.
And let them see with their own eyes the glory of your Son,
Jesus, in the love of their children and grandchildren.
Bless them always until they come to rest in you.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen

Back to School Prayer

Loving God, thank you for the rest and relaxation we enjoyed
over the summer. Today, we pray for our children as they begin
their new school year. Bless them with joy at seeing friends,
excitement at new experiences and a love of learning. Watch over
all who learn, replacing fear with joy, anxiety with peace, and
tiredness with energy. Grant teachers
wisdom, patience and joy in helping their students.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
