Revisiting Catholic Classics
"As for me, my God, I only ask one single gift,
I have only one prayer to make--give me a pure heart." All are welcome to join us at our next meeting on Monday even-
ing, July 11 from 7:00 - 8:30 pm in the Community Room.
We will continue our study (page 56) of the spiritual clas-
sic Abandonment to Divine Providence, by Fr. Jean Pierre de Caussade, S.J. We conclude our discussion with Night Prayer. Join us as we seek a deeper understanding of this mys-tery of Christ within us. Call the parish office at 333-8989 for more information.

I’M PRO-LIFE! WHAT CAN I DO?
Planned Parenthood located at 3105 N. 93rd has found two abortionists to perform surgical abortions on Wednesdays. Abortions began at this location on May 18, 2011. All parishes are asked to prayerfully consider com-mitting one Wednesday and/or one Saturday each month to finding volunteers to stand in prayer at Planned Parenthood. The St. James pro-life committee is hopeful to have prayer warriors present on Wednes-days between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
St. Robert‟s has committed to every Wednes-day from 1-2 pm to stand in prayer at that location. Abortion appointment hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. but women are still in recovery until 3:00p.m. If you cannot come on Wednesday, consider Saturday mornings.
Liz Samboli is going to schedule those who want to commit to a particular Wednesday (1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th). Please email her at [email protected] or to Susie Price at [email protected] with your choice. If you want every Wednesday, please let us know that too.
Thank you St. Robert‟s Parishioners.

St. Robert’s Prayer Garden
“God Will Grow On You”
Have you been to the prayer garden this week? Vibrant cream colored daylilies are in full bloom, and the pink asti-bles are gorgeous. The hydrangeas are full of huge multi colored blossoms, and the hostas are all sending up their long spikes of purple blossoms.
Also in full bloom are the St. John's Worts, which are be-hind the bench near the grotto. Their cheerful yellow blos-soms will make you smile for the rest of the week.
The garden takes on a totally different look in the evening. Wonderful shadows and patterns are created on the flowers and statues and crucifix from all the lights that have been installed. You need to enter the garden before the gates are locked promptly at 9pm. Once in, you are able to stroll the garden at your leisure and then you can exit anytime by using the button on the column inside the gate.
Stop and ‘smell the flowers’ in our beautiful prayer garden.
Hours are: 7:00 a.m. till 9:00 p.m. seven days a week.
NO FOOD, PETS OR SMOKING ALLOWED!

Through this study and prayer, the young women will inevitably grow in knowledge and virtue, both of which will help them better love and serve others. Along with scripture and catechetical knowledge, they will learn practical tips for applying the
Church's teachings to their daily lives. Participants will discuss the nature of femininity and discover what it means to be created as women. They will have the opportunity to reflect on their personal development and character for-mation as well as examine their relationships with peers and the opposite sex.

Besides incorporating Scripture and catechesis in the lessons, the Girl Genius program also includes group activities, "girl-time reflec-tions," and journaling sessions that focus on issues affect-ing middle school girls today (confronting culture/media; teen image/self-esteem, etc.) Participants will need to bring a sack lunch both days.
