St. Rita of Cascia Church Ministry Fair
November 17 & 18 after all the Masses
Last week we listed focused on the Ministry of Faith Formation. This week we will be giving a brief description of the Ministries of Outreach and Parish Focus. Elizabeth Ministry: Ministry designed to sup-port women and families during childbearing/childbearing years. Homeless Shelter (PADS): Interfaith ministry proving food and overnight shelter for men, women, and children. Interfaith Food Pantry: Distributes food to those in need. MOMs Group: Brings the companionship of other women into your busy life as a mother. Prison Ministry: RITAS ministry. St. Vincent de Paul: outreach to those in need channeled through the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Building and Grounds: Maintains and im-proves the property, both interior and exterior. Snow shoveling before Masses when necessary. Church Cleaning: Weekly cleaning teams for the Church as well as twice a year major clean-ing done by all teams.

Ministerio de Elizabeth: Ministerio diseñado para apoyar a las mujeres y las familias durante los años de procreación / crianza de los hijos. Refugio para indigentes (PADS): Ministerio inter-religioso que proporciona alimentos y alojamiento du-rante la noche para hombres, mujeres y niños. Despensa de comida interreligiosa: distribuye alimentos a los necesitados. MOMs Grupo: trae la compañia de otras mujeres a tu ocupada vida como madre. Ministerio de Prisiones: Ministerio RITAS. St. Vincent de Paul: Apoyo y asistencia a los pobres. Edificio y Terreno: Mantenimiento y cuidado de los edificios y areas de la parroquia. Ayuda para limpiar la nieve cuando sea necesario. Limpieza de la Iglesia: equipos de limpieza semanales para la Iglesia, Asi como limpieza mayor dos veces al año realizada por todos los equipos.

Deacon Information Days The beginning of 2019 reopens the time period of accepting new applications to the Rockford Diocese Permanent Diac-onate Formation Program. Men between the ages of 35 and 55 who are interested in becoming a Permanent Deacon in the Diocese of Rockford and who would like to apply must attend one of the three Deacon Informa on Days scheduled this Fall. For married men, wives must also attend. These days explain both the application process and give an overview of the Permanent Diaco-nate Formation Program. While there is no commitment required to attend one of these days, only those who attend will be eligible to apply. The dates are: November 17 December 1 All meetings are held between 10:00AM and 12:30PM at the Diocesan Administra on Building (555 Colman Center Drive, Rockford, IL 61125). Although not required, those interested are encouraged to contact the Permanent Diaconate Office (815-399-4300) to indicate which meeting they plan on attending or to ask further questions.

November 4th - 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time
As we kick off the month of November we are reminded of the three parts in the Mystical Body of Christ. First off, a few days ago on November 1st, we celebrated All Saints Day, remembering the Triumphant, those who have completed their earthly life and properly disposed to enter into God’s presence forever; they have reached the perfection of charity. A day later, on November 2nd, we commemorated
the Purgative, those being purified with God’s love prior to their entrance into Heaven. And let’s not forget the Militant, us on earth fighting the good fight, striving to accept God’s love day by day and living a life of virtue. This month let us be inspired by the saints who have gone before us; pray for our brothers and sisters in need of purification; and be ever more attentive to our personal calling to be holy men and women. What’s our primary calling? By the grace of God, we are all called and chosen to be saints! Fr. John McNamara
