Prayer Shawl Ministry The Prayer Shawl Ministry has created and delivered 1,008 Prayer Shawls and Blankets to those suffering and in need of healing and comfort. We are thankful and appreciate the donations we have received for our Prayer Shawl Ministry. Your generosity has provided some of the materials to create this shawls and blankets, as well as the ministers that have purchased many of their own materi-als. The Ministry is in need of donations to keep the ministry active. They have utilized most of their materials. Donations or monetary donations, with Prayer Shawl Ministry noted, would be very much appreciated. Prayer Shawl Ministers share their time, talent and service, as an act of prayer for healing, peace and God’s loving presence. As these shawls and blankets are created, our Ministers pray for the healing of the recipient. Before being delivered to the recipient, they are blessed by our priests. This Ministry is truly guided by the Holy Spirit! The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on Monday mornings from 10:00 to 12:00 in the JPII Bldg. Please consider joining the Ministry! Sacrament of the Sick The Sacrament of the Sick is a Sacrament offered by the Church for healing in sickness. This sickness may be physi-cal, mental or emotional. Anyone of any age can receive the Sacrament as often as needed, but not usually not less than a 3 month period. Only a priest can offer the Sacrament of the Sick. The Church will do everything possible, in case of an emergency. However, it may be difficult if it is “last minute”. May this be a re-minder to take advantage of the healing Sacraments of the Church~ For Sacra-ment of the Sick …

The blessing is a profound reminder that there is more involved than merely husband and wife. The new life waiting to be born is no less than a gift from God Himself. This little someone is a

unique individual, from the color of hair and eyes to the fingerprints and footprints gathered at birth. Best of all, God

has a purpose that only this child can fulfill.

Women of the Old Testament: Their Lives, Our Hope Winter/Spring Scripture Study

Although we are probably familiar with the great patriarchs and male figures of the Old Testament, such as Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, and David, there is often a bit of mystery surrounding the lives of the women of these scriptures; yet they also have a role in the history of God’s chosen people. Some of the women of the Old Testament often seem obscure to us, with names that we barely remember and lives that are hidden among the more familiar stories. However, we would do well to get to know them better, for they have important and inspirational lessons to teach us about living our lives with faith, generosity, fortitude, purity of conscience, and other virtues. God was of ultimate importance in their lives. By spending some time with several of these women as we encounter them in this scripture study, we may gain some important insights into what is necessary to live our own lives in faithfulness to God.

This scripture study begins on Monday evening, Jan. 27 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm on the first floor of our John Paul II building and will be repeated on Thursday morning, Jan. 30 from 9:00 – 10:30 am in

our parish Library, for those who prefer a daytime class. Our sessions will continue on Mondays and Thursdays through the end of April. The cost for our study booklet is $9.00. For further information,

please contact Mary Ann Andel at 987-0312 x 250. Thank you!

“First of all, then I urge that supplication, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiv-ings be made for all men for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of Truth.”1 Timothy 2:1-4

CATHOLIC 101 is here again with a new addition... CATHOLIC 102 !!!

Have you ever wondered or has anyone asked you why we go to confess to a priest and not just directly to God? Why do you Catholics "worship" Mary and the Saints? You don't? Then why do you bow down to their statues and idols and kiss their feet? Isn't that idol worship?

Have any Jehovah Witnesses or Mormons ever gone to your door and pointed things out to you which confused you or you didn't know the answers to? Catholic 101 is here to teach you how to answer questions regarding the Catho-lic faith in a simple loving manner! Catholic 102 is here to teach you how to witness and answer Jehovah Witness and Mormon questions. Weekly classes for adults and children 13 and above accompanied by an adult, will begin on Tuesday January 28th. Catholic 101 will begin at 6:00pm and end at 7:30pm. Catholic 102 will begin 10 minutes later from 7:40pm to 9:00pm. Each class is independent so you don't have to have attended 101 to go to 102. Likewise, classes are not consecutive so you can come to class at any time. You can begin attending this class at any time no matter if you have attended in the past. Call or text Roland Corral at 909-917-6176 to sign up. The class is free but there are some recommended texts and books available for purchase.

MINISTERIO CON PEQUEÑAS COMUNIDADES DE FE

Raquel Aguilar (909) 803-0301

The Lord said to me, Enter into purgatory often, be-cause they need you there. O my Jesus , I understand the meaning of these words which You are speaking to me, but first let me enter the treasury of Your mercy.

Write my daughter, that I am mercy itself for the contrite soul. A soul’s greatest wretchedness does not enkindle Me with wrath; but rather, My Heart is moved towards it with great mercy. (1739)

Leviticus 19:17-18

“Huwag kayong magtatanim ng galit sa iyong kap-wa. Sa halip, makipagkasundo ka sa kanya. Sa yon, hindi ka magkakasala dahil sa kanya. Huwag kang maghihiganti o magtatanim ng galit sa iyong mga kababayan. Ibigin mo ang iyong kapwa gaya ng pag-ibig mo sa iyong sarili. Ako ang Panginoon. “You shall not bear hatred for your brother or sis-ter in your heart. Though you may have to reprove your fellow citizen, do not incur sin because of him. Take no revenge and cherish no grudge against any of your people. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.”

Heart of Mary Women’s Fellowship invites all women to join us for our March 7th meeting in the Parish Hall. Heart of Mary Women’s Fellowship is parish women’s group that looks to Mary, the Mother of God as our role model. Open to all women, we strive to both support and serve one another; helping each other to grow in virtue through the use of devo-

tions, faith-sharing, and gifted speakers. Just as Mary the Mother of God gave her eternal yes and made of herself a gift of love; we seek to make ourselves gifts of love, that we might support the life of the parish in service to God. First Saturday mass is in the church at 7:30 am. Fellowship begins in the Parish Hall at 9 am. If you have any questions, email Michelle Workman at [email protected].

Divine Mercy in My Soul from the Diary of Saint Faustina

Tagalog

If the heart wanders or is distracted, bring it back to the point quite gently and replace it tenderly in its Master’s presence. And Even if you did nothing during the whole of your hour but bring your heart back and place it again in Our Lord’s presence, though it went away every time you brought it back, your hour would be very well employed. (Saint Francis de Sales)
