be individually known, valued and have a sense of
belonging.
The excellent facilities mean that we are able to offer
a broad and exciting curriculum within the setting of a
small school. Our close proximity to St Mary’s Church at

Reflections The year 3’s presented a ‘Human Timeline’ to their families and other year levels. I stood with other people
doing Ned Kelly. Lots of parents asked me a lot of questions about Ned Kelly and I had to answer a lot. I
made a model of him standing with the Police. I enjoyed the day. I liked all the footprints on the ground
and all the other people’s models. I also liked how the classrooms were set up. Other children dressed up
but I didn’t feel like it. Before the families came in, the year 2’s and 5’s came
in to look at our work. It was practice for us. There was a Phar Lap room,
an Olympic room, a William Buckley room and the MCG room. It was a good day.

On 19th September 2013, the Year Three
classes presented a `Human Timeline’ to
families and other year levels. I dressed up
as
William
Buckley. I greeted people as they
came into the Year Three area and
handed out a timeline to each
person. A lot of people asked me questions about William Buckley and I
showed them my model. I enjoyed having my family come and see my
work and sharing what we have been learning this term in Inquiry.
John D (3 Red)
At the end of Term 3, the Year Three level presented a `Human Timeline’. I designed a model on Ned Kelly.
I presented my model in the corridor of the Year Three area. I waited for people to come and I answered
their questions. I enjoyed presenting my model, but I found it a bit hard answering all of the questions. To
get into character, I wore a `Dead or Alive’ poster over my uniform. I chose Ned Kelly because his life
interests me. I really enjoyed doing the Human Timeline. Steven (3 Red)

Western Region Athletics Carnival.
This event was held at the Keilor Athletics Club, and involved many athletes from across our
region. All reports state that our students competed really well, and all achieved some sort of
success. Congratulations to the following students:
Jaime Attard: 9/10Yr Boys Hurdles Cheyenne Parente: 11yr Girls Long Jump

Championships.
We wish him the best of luck! Congratulations Christian**
Walkathon 2013
Last Thursday, then weather held out, and allowed us to run our annual SMMPS Walkathon. Our
students have been hard at work prior to this day collecting donations and sponsors to raise
money for our school. Every student and teacher participated, either running or walking around a
designated course. Some students really pushed themselves to their limits and achieved some
amazing results. Each event was capped off with a sausage in bread and a dance to some pumping
tunes!!
Big thanks go to all of our parent helpers (especially our dancing mums…), Heath, Brenton and Josh
for running the barbie, Joe & Kellie for the admin, classroom teachers for helping collect our forms
and money, sports captains for their support and encouragement, and of course all of our kids and
families for making this event such a HUGE success and supporting our school.
Congratulations to Green House “WOODS” for completing the most laps!!
Please ensure when you are returning sponsorship money to school that it comes in a sealed
envelope with your childs name, class and total amount clearly labelled on the front.
