2nd Sunday of Lent
“I am the Lord who brought you from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land as a possession.” (Genesis 15:7) Just as the Lord gave Abraham, Moses and the Israelites a land to possess, He has also given each of us a home. Whether your home is grand or humble, it is a gift from God. Abraham prepared a great sacrifice to the Lord in gratitude for the home God gave him. How do you show your gratitude to God for the home He has given you? Do you make a sacrifice of any kind? Do you return any of your finances to God, investing equally in your eternal home just as you invest in your earthly home?

For family and parish members that look forward to getting accurate completion dates so they can plan their Spring plantings, you can go on www.worcesterdiocese.org website, click on “Departments”, then click on “St. John’s Cemetery System” for a listing of outside cemeteries that are “scheduled”, “in process”, or “completed” with their cemetery cleanup. You may call our office at 508-757-7415 for updates as well. Thank you.

PARTNERS IN CHARITY ~ 2019 Annual Partners in Charity Appeal
Next Weekend, March 23rd/24th, is In Pew Commitment Weekend. Once a year, we commit ourselves to this ongoing work by supporting this life-giving appeal. We reflect on God’s great generosity, and respond with generous giving of our own. With your support, help is visible every day in the compassionate outreach of Catholic Charities, to the least among us; in the prayerful witness of our retired priests, and the joy of new priestly vocations; to the many diocesan ministries and programs that heal, teach and care for others. Please consider being as generous as possible. Thank You!
Intercessions for Life For adoptive fathers: May they reflect God’s constant, steady love as they embrace their roles of guardian, father, and protector; We pray to the Lord:

Sanctuary Display
According to Lenten norms, we cannot have flowers decorating the sanctuary, except a few on Laetare (4th) Sunday, funerals or weddings. However, we may have plants or vines. Our display is meant to remind us of this desert-like “dry” season, the “rocky” road we travel in life, as well as the “tools” we need to make the journey: the Light of Christ to illuminate our way, the scriptures for direction, and life-giving water to help us bear fruit. United Church of Christ, Federated Webster
For almost 25 years now, a dedicated group of volunteers have turned donated bedding into sleeping bags for the homeless in our community and beyond. Last year alone, we gave out over 200 sleeping bags and health kits to those in need. We always welcome donations of blankets and quilts, men’s neckties, and items for the accompanying health kits: we are currently in need of white socks (mens 9-12), hand towels, toothpaste, combs, bandaids and toothbrushes. These items may be dropped off at the church Tuesday through Friday mornings from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm, or a monetary gift may be sent to us at 4 Church St., Webster, 01570 attn: Golden Bees.
