When we cannot attend Mass and cannot receive Holy Communion, it is recommended that we make a “Spiritual Communion”. To do this, begin by examining your conscience and making a good Act of Contrition. Then pray one of the prayers recommended by the Saints for inviting Christ into your heart, such as this:
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot receive you now sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace you as if you were already there, and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.

14th Sunday in Ordinary Time
“For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” (Matthew 11:30) When we think of being good stewards, we may think that God is asking too much of us when He calls us to generously share our time, talent, and treasure. However, we must remember that we are not “owners” of anything, we are merely “stewards” of the gifts God has given us. All He is asking is that we give back a small portion, in gratitude, of what he has already given to us.
Parishioners and Friends,
Thank you for your patience as we continue to maintain our place of worship for everyone safely within the pandemic guidelines listed below…
Entrance is front-door only. Every other pew will be available.
Please observe the 6’ safe distance in the pew for those not in your household.
Masks should be worn. Ushers will be available to help with observing the safe distancing guidelines.
At the time of Distribution of Holy Communion, Ushers will direct one row at a time. Please continue to observe the 6’ safe distance.
Instead of passing the collection basket, we ask you to place your Envelope/donation in the basket at the front of the Altar either as you arrive or after Mass has ended.
It is because of your continued financial support to the parish that we have been able to continue paying our payroll and bills during these difficult times. Your generosity and thoughtfulness are very much appreciated and I am most grateful to you and proud of our parish!
Older adults and those with underlying health conditions continue to be advised to avoid public assemblies. The suspension of the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays will remain in force until Dec. 31, 2020.
We will continue to stream the Saturday 5:00 pm Mass Online. The link can be accessed on our website: www.stlouischurchwebster.org
Please Note: During the month of July, Confessions are not available at St. Louis Church. Please contact another parish if you’re in need of this sacrament. Thank you.

PRAYER IN TIME OF PANDEMIC
O God, whose Only Begotten Son bore the weight of human suffering for our salvation, hear the prayers of your Church for our sick brothers and sisters and deliver us from this time of trial.
Open our ears and our hearts to the voice of your son: Be not afraid, for I am with you always.
Bless all doctors and nurses, researchers and public servants; give us the wisdom to do what is right and the faith to endure this hour, that we might gather once again to praise your name in the heart of your Church, delivered from all distress and confident in your mercy. Through Christ our Lord. Amen
In the Gospel today, we hear Jesus say: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Your gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul brings peace to those who are overwhelmed with life’s burdens.
