Parish Communication We would like to have better communication at the parish, and in an effort to do so, we are going to make better use of a communication platform we have, called Flocknote. You can sign up in one of two ways: Go to stjoepsj.flocknote.com Or text SJPSJ to 84576 on your smartphone. We will send out urgent information, like when Mass is canceled due to weather or some other circumstance. You may also choose to receive general announcements about upcoming parish events. If you belong to a special group, like the altar society, religious education, youth group, lectors and EMHCs, a bible study, etc, you can receive information specific to that group. You can make these selections when you sign up. We promise not to bombard you with unnecessary information. And you can adjust your communication preferences on your own at any time.
No Daily Mass this Friday This Friday, June 7, there will be no daily Mass and Adoration. Mass will also be canceled on Monday, June 10. There will, of course, be Mass on the weekend. The regular Mass schedule will resume Wednesday, June 12.
Middle School Summer Camp The diocese is hosting a Summer Camp for middle-schoolers, July 25-28. It will have messy games, low ropes, community building, Adoration, reconciliation, daily prayer, and Mass. Location is Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Niceville. If you’re interested, contact Carolyn Williams.

A New Priest for the Diocese Please pray for Father Jacob Jaks, who was ordained to the priesthood on the morning of June 1, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Pensacola. He will be assigned there as parochial vicar, beginning July 1.
Flowers If you would like to remember a loved one and/or a special occasion with flowers on the altar, flower envelopes are in each pew. Please put the date on the envelope you would like the flowers displayed. Allow at least two weeks for preparations.
Pentecost Novena In the nine days between Jesus’s Ascension and Pentecost, the disciples together with Mary—the Church, that is—were gathered in prayer. This is the model for when we pray a novena, a prayer said over nine days. Here is a Pentecost Novena that we invite you to pray between now and Pentecost, next Sunday: “Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth. O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.”
