A Blessing to Others!
Rooted in the doctrines of the Protestant Reformation. We believe we are saved by grace through faith in
Jesus, that the Bible is the rule for Christian life and faith, and that the Good News of Jesus should be proclaimed
in word and deed. Sacrament Celebrating. We believe God ministers to the community of believers in unique and special ways
though Baptism and Holy Communion. Liturgically Oriented. We believe remembering the whole life of Christ is important for spiritual maturity. We
follow the church calendar, celebrating seasons like Advent and Lent. Ecumenically Minded. In the context of our heritage, we believe all those who call upon Jesus as Lord will share
in his eternal blessings and so we welcome all believers who join us to participate fully in worship.

You Will Be a Blessing!! Convocation 2016 @ St. John’s
Plan to be a part!!
Remember, ANYBODY can come to an EA Convocation. We are not a denomination, so nobody sends "delegates" and no
"business" is conducted or votes taken at our convocation.
Instead, our annual gathering is a time for ministers and lay people from both EA and non EA churches to come together
for worship, fellowship and spiritual growth. Our own church will have several service opportunities to BLESS OTHERS in the
upcoming months.
Everyone who has attended an EA convocation has said they found the event inspiring, uplifting and educational - so please
come and bring your friends!

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS RESUME
Meal: 5:15-5:50pm Adult Class Options:
Ladies, God is Faithful, Abundant, & True- facilitator Tammy Knight. Join us Wednesday nights this
fall, as we go deeper still, with a video/workbook study by Kay Arthur, Priscilla Shirer, and Beth Moore.
Heritage Hall from 6 to 7.
Running Your Race: Spiritually and Physically Getting Off the Couch—facilitators Mark Aderhold,
Champ Crocker, Wade Warren --basement of the Ruehl building. Feel free to contact us with any
questions.
A Virtuous Life / Quieting Your Heart—facilitator: Carla Crimm. Virtue is all about our behavior. It’s
an act of yielding our lives to our principles, which is not always easy, but always rewarding. There’s a will
to do good in every one of us, but whether or not we choose to exercise and develop that goodness
determines our character. This doesn’t mean that we walk perfectly by any means. That’s where the grace
of God is vital to our faith. It’s by the grace of God that we’re saved through faith in Jesus Christ. We all
struggle in this world. We all have good intentions, but our flesh keeps pulling us back. Suggested
materials: one inch three ring binder, colored pencils gel pens and/or markers
Willy, Wes and The Boys—Men’s Class. More details to follow.

PRAYER REQUESTS
All prayer requests we receive are very important to us. To make sure that we can give them proper attention,
please be sure to write them on a Prayer Request card found in the pews or on the welcome stations in Christ Hall.
Requests can be placed in the offering plate or leave them in the church office. You may also email prayer
requests to: [email protected]. Sunday Mornings and Wednesday evenings are busy times for everyone
and prayer requests can be accidentally lost in conversations. Thank you for helping us with this important matter.
