• The project involves the renewal ofpart of the water distribution systemin the city and consists of a drinkingwater plant with a capacity of 75million liters per day and a storagecapacity of 33 million liters.

• To date 5,678 cubic metersof concrete has been poured.

• The Well House structure,located in West Saint John,structure has beencompleted along with thegenerators being set, thepumps have been installedand the electrical andinstrumentation is underway.

• The project also coversimprovements to the existing waterdistribution, disinfection andpumping systems. To date 12.8kilometers of pipe has beeninstalled and 3.2 kilometers of pipehas been rehabilitated.

Saint John Safe Clean DrinkingWater ProjectDesign, construction, operation, rehabilitation and financing of watershed (water source) and transmission (water pipe) improvements, a new drinking water treatment facility and water storage facilities, industrial system improvements in East Saint John, and the implementation of a groundwater system and treatment in West Saint John. The project’s total net present value (NPV) is $216.8 million Canadian dollars.
