A Note from the Pastor Fr. Michael Fragoso

This Sunday is the Seventh Sunday of Easter. Next week will be Pentecost Sunday and then there are the two solemnities when we celebrate the Most Holy Trinity and then the most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. These solemnities are “most holy” because they refer to God. It comes from the vision of Isaiah (6:3) where he saw the Lord seated on a throne surrounded by the Seraphim who cried out to each other “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.” In Hebrew, the repetition of their times indicates that God is most holy, or holiest, superlative. If comparative, more holy or holier, they would have said, “holy, holy.” Only God can be most holy. It’s also the month of May which is dedicated to the Blessed Mother. It’s a good practice to pray the rosary every day but especially during this month. This Sunday we will crown Mary with flowers as our queen and our mother. This Sunday is also Mother’s Day so we can celebrate our mothers in a special way. Every day should be Mother’s Day since they never stop their care and love for us. Happy Mother’s Day!

The Bread and Wine that are being offered at our Eucharistic Celebration this week are in loving memory of Salvatore Filiano. This is a gift from The Lombard Family.

St. James the Less Day! St. James the Less is sponsoring a fundraiser on Wednesday, May 18th at Garvey’s Restaurant. When you present this bulletin, a 10% donation of your purchase will be contributed to St. James. This will support the restoration of our church pews and projects for the interior of our church. LUNCH, DINNER OR TAKE-OUT/ 732-521-1800 Bob & Kay Garvey look forward to hosting this fundraiser.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

COIN DROP FOR VOCATIONS Members of the Columbiettes will be collecting donations after Masses on May 14th & 15th for their “Pennies for Heaven” Charity. All donations will be given directly to NJ Seminarians and Postulants to help defray their educational expenses. Please be as generous as you can.

THANK YOU!
