Second Sunday of Lent The Gospel story of the trans iguration of Jesus holds many lessons; the most prominent being the transformation of Jesus from simply being perceived as a wise and gifted prophet to the one who has ful illed the sacred traditions of the Mosaic law and the hope of the prophets, the Messiah, the Christ. The Lord calls his stewards to participate in His redemptive activi-ty. Heeding this call requires transformation, being willing to renounce patterns of behavior that draw us away from God. In this coming week of Lent, let us pray for the grace to be trans-formed, so that by our goodness and generosity, we may walk more authentically in the footsteps of Jesus.

Segundo Domingo de Cuaresma La historia del Evangelio de la trans iguracion de Jesus tiene numerosas lecciones; la mas prominente es la transformacion de Jesus de ser percibido simplemente como un profeta sabio y excepcional a ser quien ha llenado las tradiciones sagradas de la ley de Moises y la esperanza de los profetas, el Mesı as, el Cristo. El Senor llama a sus corresponsables a participar en Su actividad redentora. LENT CUARESMA The Holy Season of Lent, where the Church proclaims a new Christ's call to penance and conversion of life. “If anyone wishes to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24). The entire season of Lent from AshWednesday (February 17th) to HolyThursday(April 1st), is a penitential season; a time for self-denial, prayer and Christian charity. During this season, we are strongly encouraged to participate in daily Mass and receive Holy Communion, receive the Sacrament of Penance, attend Lenten devotions and the Stations of the Cross; read the Scriptures prayerfully, perform acts of self-denial and works of mercy.

SAINT FERDINAND CHURCH OUTDOOR MASS PROTOCOLS

Consider the following before coming to Church:

All are encouraged to wash their hands before coming to Mass, bring their own hand sanitizer, mask, etc. People who are (65) or older and those with serious underlying medical conditions, such as heart or lung disease, diabetes or other-wise immuno-compromised conditions are encouraged to stay at home and participate in the liturgies through our Livestream Mass-es. Archbishop Jose Gomez has given general dispensation from the Sunday obligation to attend Mass until further notice. Please remember that safety is our top priority during this time at Saint Ferdinand Church. All new procedures are being integrated to provide the safest and healthiest environment for our parish. We ask for your cooperation, patience, and understanding while we maneuver through this time. The following are some current and updated guidelines for outdoor celebrations:

Before Mass:

All are welcomed to attend Mass. Please come early, make a line outside of the school sidewalk on the Coronel Street side, keeping safe social distancing and waiting for the instructions of the Minis-ters of Hospitality Seats will not be reserved for other family members or friends. Please enter through the Coronel side of the street. Please use hand sanitizer (located at entrance) before entering the parking lot. All parishioners and families will be ushered to their seat. Seats will be illed from front to back as people arrive Members of the same household may sit together, but there should be at least 6” feet of separation otherwise. Chairs will be set 6” feet apart to create social distancing. PLEASEDONOTMOVETHECHAIRS.There will be no congregating before, during, or after Mass. You can still participate in the Mass via Facebook and YouTube Livestreaming.

During Mass (Outside):

COMMUNION:BeforetheCommunionProcession,thecele-brantwilllifttheHostandsay,“The Body of Christ”andthosewhowillreceivecommunionwillrespond“Amen” When a parishioner approaches for Communion, he/she will re-main 6”feet from others in the line and from the minister. When it is time to receive, keep the mask on and remain six feet away from the minister while he shows the Host then you will bow for reverence and approach the minister to receive Communion. During Communion, the Ministers of Hospitality will indicate which row to go to Communion. We will be using the center aisle to receive Communion and the side aisle to return to one’s seat Everyone is encouraged to receive Communion by hand. Please minimize movement from your seat during the Mass. All parishioners are encouraged to give online or drop off your donation in the basket located at the exit of the parking lot as you leave. You may also drop off your donation in Parish Of ice mail slot.

Todos son bienvenidos a asistir a Misa. Por favor vengan temprano, hagan una fila en la banqueta de la calle Coronel, mantengan un distan-ciamiento social seguro y esperen la indicaciones de los Ministros de Hospitalidad. Los asientos no se reservaran para otros miembros de la familia o amigos. Ingresen por el porton de la Calle Coronel. Use desinfectante de manos (ubicado en la entrada) antes de ingresar al estacionamiento. Todos los feligreses y familias seran conducidos a su asiento. Durante la Misa (Afuera):

COMUNIÓN:AntesdelaProcesióndelaComunión,elcelebrantelevantarálaHostiaydirá:"El Cuerpo de Cristo"ylosquerecibiránlacomuniónresponderán"Amén".Cuando un feligres se acerque a la Comunion, el / ella permanecera a seis pies de otros en la lınea y del ministro.
