TWELFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
FOR THE RIDE HOME First Reading: Jeremiah 20:10-13 Second Reading: Romans 5:12-15 Gospel: Matthew 10: 26-33
As Jesus prepares the apostles for their mission, he challenges them to face persecution with courage. They are to announce the reign of God by shouting it from the housetops. They are to proclaim in public the truths he has revealed to them in private. Their enemies may harm the disciples' bodies. But their souls are safe in God's hands. Jesus insists that God loves us so much that God has counted every hair
on our heads! And God is stronger than all our enemies put together.
Not many of us literally shout our faith from the housetops. Do you speak about your faith with family and friends? Have you shared your faith in
any way with others? If not, why not? Why is it hard to do this?
We are rightly concerned today about self-esteem. Psychologists have found that people with a good self-image are less likely to harm others, and are more able to cope with life. What truth does Jesus reveal that helps us to know that we are good and that we are loved, the basic
building blocks of a good self-image?
Parish Outreach Ministry Food Pantry: Thank you for all the donations of food that came in this past week. The only way Parish Outreach can help others in through the gift of your generosity. The Spirit of love and commitment is very much a part of what our Parish is blessed with. Please remember that the individuals and families that are helped through your good-ness thanks you. It’s hard to believe the school year is almost over. To all of our graduates, congratulations! May everyone have a holy, rest filled Summer! Blood Drive: Our communities last blood drive is taking place on Sunday, July 16, 2017 after all the masses. Please consider giving the “gift of life” and become a blood donor. God Bless
Prayer Blanket Ministry Meetings are held on Saturdays from
9:30am to 12:30pm. Contact Janice by email: [email protected]
Next meeting is Saturday, July 8th, 2017 New members are always welcome. Come join this exciting ministry—we create prayer blankets, lap
robes, baby blankets, preemie hats, Christmas stockings, “pink scarves”, etc. and donate them to
various organizations, nursing homes, etc. We also share ideas, patterns and offer instruction for any-one wishing to learn to knit or crochet or brush up on their skills. For more information call the Parish Outreach. If you have yarn to donate, we will gladly
accept it and use it. Thank you!
Youth Choir Please contact Katie Finn if your child (grades 3 and up)
would like to join. 631-835-4129

REMINDER’S DURING MASS We love and encourage children of all ages to
attend Mass...on occasion children may become overly fidgety and vocal. Please consider wheth-er they may be more comfortable in the church
lobby or crying room, both of which have speakers.
_______________________ Summer Dress Attire
With the warmer weather approaching, please try to dress appropriately when entering the Lord’s house. For example, no beach attire….attire
should be of a modest nature. THANK YOU.
Can you help? Our parish has a serious shortage of Altar Servers to
assist at Mass and at special liturgical functions. Pope
John Paul the second once said that Altar Servers are
more than “helpers of the priest”. They are “Servants of
Jesus, the High Priest”. Do you know someone who
might be interested in sharing in this ministry, has made
his/her first communion and is in at least the 4th grade?
Please contact Marie Cagnard : 631-471-2211.

Join Us With Mary When life got overwhelming and too big for us as children, we turned to our mother for support and guidance. As adults, we thank her for all she had done for us. Now we are blessed with the opportunity to turn to our Heavenly Mother Mary to ask for her support and guidance, and thank her for the many blessings she has given us. Every Wednesday after 9:00 AM mass (at 9:30), you are invited to join us as we pray the rosary to ask for her help and guidance and to thank her for her abounding love.

Did you know because of the Catholic Ministries
Appeal last year….
We delivered or served more than 550,000 meals to
senior citizens and young families. Parish outreach centers, including our food pantries,
assisted more than 100,000 families. Our Office of Hospital Ministry served more than
300,000 people in local hospitals. 12,000 volunteer Catechists taught Religious Educa-
tion to more than 110,000 of our children in public
schools. In our 133 Parishes there were more than 17,000
Baptisms, 17,000 First Communions, 19,000 Confirma-
tions and 3,000 Weddings. We provided safe and affordable housing for strug-
gling seniors through 15 housing facilities with more
than 1,200 affordable apartments. Our parish received a cash rebate of more than
$10,000 which helped to offset expenses needed to
maintain our building and to fund the many pro-
grams we offer. Please consider making a pledge to this most worthy
charity. We need the help of every parish family to
reach our goal of $51,100. You have until January 31,
2018 to pay off your pledge. No down payment is
necessary. The Diocese will send monthly reminders.
Keep in mind this is not a legal document. If you feel
