You are invited to help the poor and others in need from 9:00 am to noon. Opportunities to help include: decorating cookies in the school cafeteria; donating and making scarves, hats and mittens and writing cards to the sick and elderly at the Parish Office in Benedictine Hall. We are also collecting donated religious items (used or those sent to you in the mail) for our troops. Contribute to the poor and homeless served by Community Kitchen. Items needed: sweats, coats, sweaters (sizes XL to XXL so they can dress in multi layers to keep warm), gloves, socks, tarps, blankets, shoes/boots, men’s belts, personal hygiene necessities, sleeping bags. Bring items to Benedictine Hall. Have a fun time to socializing with fellow Saint Anthony parishioners while helping those in need! Signups after Mass on October 12, 13, 19 & 20. Questions: Contact Anna Marie Miller at 502-554-4879.
Tithe to St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities October is Pro-life month and again this year our parish will witness to the sacredness of human life by contributing to St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities in New Albany next weekend, October 5 and 6.
We are going to tithe one tenth of our weekend collection to St. Elizabeth’s. This is your opportunity to send a posi-tive pro-life message and contribute to their wonderful work. Increase your donation next week by ten percent, or more! You will be blessed for your generosity, as will the little children you help.
I am a strong believer in the power of tithing. I do it, and I have seen it work time and again. Give to God and others and you will be blessed. As we continue to promote stew-ardship here in the parish, we as a parish should also model that stewardship.
Thank you for your generosity. — Fr. Joe
