A Parish is a mystery of faith which eludes neat explanation.

Dear Parishioners,

108 of our finest young people were confirmed

by Bishop Cruz yesterday at ceremonies at 11:00 am

& 1:00 pm. Pray for them to be faithful sons and

daughters of the Church, on fire with the love of God,

the grace of the Holy Spirit.

Our evening of the fine arts was just that - a

most enjoyable, impressive sharing of so much parish

talent. Everyone who attended is praising the entire

program. Thank you, thank you, to all our artists.

Special kudos to Jackie Alworth and Joe Wozniak

who “pulled it all together”. Bravo!

Equally successful was our Shredding Day.

It was a wonderful public service as well as a good

fund-raiser. Thanks to Pablo DePaulis and his team

for their hard work.

Soteriology - reflecting on and studying the

work of salvation accomplished once and for all time

by the passion, death, resurrection and glorification of

our Lord Jesus Christ. The Year of Grace, the liturgi-

cal cycle, comes to a close during November. The

first Sunday of Advent is the Church’s new years day.

Our Church places before in God’s Word at the

Sabbath celebrations of Mass the “Last Things”, the

end of the world, and the Parousia - the second

coming of Christ. There is nothing morbid about this.

Rather, we are invited to take a spiritual inventory of

just where we are at - what needs improvement in our

lives, what needs renewal - or what needs to be ended.

All of our lives are very busy. What a great

gift November’s Liturgy of the Word can be for us.

Happy 125th Anniversary to you all -

the People of God who are St. Aloysius Parish in

Caldwell.

With love and thanks,

Sincerely in Christ,

Msgr. Desmond
