  • Saint Aidan Parish Est. 2020

“Grow In Jesus, Engage in Community, and Go Forth to Make Disciples”

    January 3, 2021

  • Epiphany Prayer

God of light, shining in darkness, through a little child, born in Bethlehem, you open to us the treasure of your grace.

Help us to search diligently for him,

so that we may offer our lives to you

    with thanksgiving, joy, and praise;

through Jesus Christ, the rising star.

    Amen.

To all the faithful people of God of Saint Aidan Parish at Saint Alphonsus and Saint Alexis Churches, I am grateful to the Lord that He has entrusted me to be the Pastor of our beloved parish. I

am so encouraged by the many ways you have expressed your congratulations, support, and most importantly, your pledge of prayers for me and the parish. I am humbled that Bishop Zubik has given me his trust, full support, and confidence. The bishop intends to provide another priest later, but he has not announced who, and it could be several weeks until one is assigned. I will therefore be inviting some visiting priests to celebrate Masses. Please welcome them with the great hospitality you are accustomed to providing. In the meantime, the Mass times schedule will remain the same. Once another priest is assigned, we will discuss if additional Masses are needed. I will be reviewing the bishop’s most recent directives sent to pastors on December 11, 2020 regarding current COVID-19 directives. His most recent directives allow Mass inside the churches, provided all precautions are followed, to allow for a safe environment. I plan to provide Sunday Mass inside our churches when we can offer a safe environment following the directives. I am also mindful that many appreciate the outdoor Mass and plan to continue providing those as well. I am asking for your assistance and support in this “hybrid” model. We will be sending out an Eblast with directions on the matters in which we will need help. I send my Christmas blessing to you all, your families, loved ones, and all those who need a blessing during this Holy Season of Christmas. Grace & Peace, Fr. Will

The schedule for Mass times will remain the same until further notice. As a reminder:

Sunday Masses 4:00 p.m. outside at Saint Alexis 7:00 a.m. livestreamed at Saint Alphonsus 9:00 a.m. outside at Saint Alphonsus 10:00 a.m. outside at Saint Alexis

Daily Masses 8:00 a.m. inside at Saint Alexis

  • WE PRAY FOR THE SICK

We entrust to the care of Christ the Divine Physician, those members of our parish families of Saint Aidan who are in need of healing in body, mind or spirit, especially:

MAY THEY REST IN PEACE Saint Aidan Parish wishes to extend sympathy to those who mourn the loss of a loved one, especially the soul who recently passed through death: Carma Cukovich (84); Mary Roso (89); Norma Hahn (97); Sister Florence Brandt, OSF (87) in her 70th year of Religious Life; Donald Decker, grandfather of Lauren (Ian) Brown. May the choirs of angels welcome them and, may they find eternal rest.

If you know of a parishioner or have a loved one who is ill, contact the Parish Center at 724.935.4343 to add their name onto the prayer list for four weeks. Intentions may return to the list upon monthly requests.

New Electronic Giving for Vanco Parishioners Please remember that all Van-co contributions ceased beginning January 1, 2021. If you were cur-rently using Vanco, you will need to set up a new giving plan with Faith Direct. Please go to: https://membership.fathdirect.net/PA47 to set up a new electronic giving plan. The link can also be found on the Parish website under “DONATE.” Thank you!

Offertory or Donation Checks Regardless of whether you belonged to Saint Alexis or Saint Alphonsus, we are now one parish of Saint Aidan. All contributions go directly into one account for the parish. Please make sure that your weekly contributions are made out to Saint Aidan Parish, not St.

Alexis or St. Alphonsus. This includes electronic payments through your bank. You need to contact your bank to change the “pay to” name. If you have any questions you may call the Parish Center at 724.935.4343. Thank you for your continued support and generosity.

Gift for Father Dave With Father Dave leaving to become the Bishop of Youngstown, as a parish, we would like to do something for him as a parish. In light of us not being able to gather together due to the pandemic, we would like to give to the Catholic Charities of Youngstown, a donation from the Saint Aidan Parishioners. You may make your donation

directly on our homepage of our website or click this link: https://saintaidanparish.org/fr-dave-gift. You can also drop the donation in the collection basket or mail it to the Parish Center Offices. The Parish will then cut one check to the Catholic Charities. Fr. Will is planning to present this to Fr. Dave after his installation Mass on January 12 and we will include a list of donors in the card. DEADLINE for submitting donations is: Thursday, January 7, 2021 If you would prefer to send a gift directly to Bishop-elect Bonnar, you may do so at this address:
