Saheti:

3.1 Basic architecture

1. The Power-Star unit is a built for purpose data logger, with an integrated GSM modem. Based on Class 1 metering standard the unit delivers all energy metrics except harmonics.

2. Using GPRS/HSDPA/EDGE or WAP the onboard modem transfers energy readings every 60 seconds.

3. A hexi-decimal file is received on our FTP server every 60 seconds, the file is it’s binary base and processed by our SQL server. This infrastructure is secure, and independently hosted with regular intra-day backups. The process takes milli-seconds.

4. Data is packaged for the web and accessible through a standard web browser.

5. Data is updated and available within 65 - 70 seconds of actual measurement. Data includes all energy metrics, environmental information as well as financial and billing data.

6. ENTERPRISE WIDE, visibility, awareness and accountability.

Our virtual meter is the result of server-side summation. Essentially this allows us to group data from any Power-Star unit to create a new or unique view. The roll-up, or hierarchal set up below is our standard, for billing and environmental reporting. Virtual meters can be set-up across multiple sites, and include the full functionality of Power-Star.

7. User Management & Permissions.

A user management and administration interface forms part of the Power-Star solution. User permission is based on a combination of the user’s role in the business and field of operation.

Power-Star is accessible to all Saheti staff, contractors and consultants with a valid user username and password.
