Product releases and feature enhancements from:

2021 and 2020

Sage 50cloud Accounting 2021 was released July 15, 2020 and contains many exciting

updates. Improvements were made to the cloud connected experience with a better and

more intuitive onboarding process. A new integration—with AutoEntry—allows you to

eliminate manual data entry tasks by easily scanning or taking pictures of documents such

as invoices, bills, bank statements, and more. Also, several product enhancements

requested by customers were included in the 2021 release.

AutoEntry Integration

AutoEntry makes it easy to eliminate manual data entry tasks, such as entering expenses,

invoices, payments, bills, receipts, and bank statements into Sage 50cloud.

2 Sage 50cloud Accounting

Using Sage 50cloud integration with AutoEntry, you can:

• Seamlessly capture and extract data from documents and publish them directly into

Sage 50cloud

• Eliminate errors by automatically categorizing expenses and syncing invoices to

matching purchase orders.

• Keep your books up to date using AutoEntry to scan or take photos (with the mobile

app) of the documents you want to sync with Sage 50cloud and let AutoEntry

capture details such as description, quantity, and price.

Memorized Purchase Invoices

Create a memorized transaction for Purchase Invoices/Bills. This feature allows you to save

time and reduce repetitive data entry tasks with memorized transactions that now include

Purchase Invoices. Enter and save common transactions and use them repeatedly.


Sage ID – a single login to access all your connected services

Sage ID is a single login that lets you securely access the connected services available

with your Sage 50cloud subscription.

With your Sage ID, you have secure authentication to connected services without the need

to enter emails and passwords for individual connected services—such as Remote Data

Access (formerly SageDrive), Bank Feeds, or Invoice Payments.

New mouseover text for fields

In transaction windows with Items and Job fields, you can hover your mouse over the field

to view the entire Item or Job ID as well as any Assemblies/Phase and Cost Codes

associated with the Item or Job ID. Using this helpful feature, you can hover over Item or

Job ID fields to see the details in a popup rather than having to open each transaction just

to be able to see the details.


Ship to Name for Customer Lists

The Ship to Name now appears on the Customer Management tab for Sales Invoices,

Sales Orders Quotes, Item Sales History by Customer, and Proposals for convenience and

to make it easy to filter.

Enhanced security with Gmail

The integration with Gmail has been updated to meet new security standards of Google.

We continue to ensure strict compliance and security standards for our customers using

Gmail.

Sage Drive is now Remote Data Access

New name, same convenient access to your company data from anywhere you have Sage

50cloud installed. The new name removes confusion around its capabilities. Remote Data

Access allows you to:

• Stay productive at home or on-the-go

• Collaborate on your books with a colleague or you CPA

• Avoid data loss with risky transfer services or storing your data to a USB

Expanded address fields in Maintain Customers, Vendors and Employees

Increased the number of characters allowed in the address field associated with

Maintenance records for Customers, Vendors and Employees from 30 to 50 to

accommodate longer addresses

Expanded Deposit Ticket ID field

The number of characters allowed in the Deposit Ticket ID field increased from 8 to 20 to

allow for longer values.


Expanded Item Type Field in Maintain Inventory Items

The character count increased from 8 to 20 on the Item Type field associated with

Inventory Items.


Additional Withholding Fields for Payroll Formula Calculations – Special 3, 4 and 5

Fields

With many states introducing Paid Family Leave laws and other additional employee

withholding taxes for designated types of businesses, fields “Special 3, 4 and 5” were

added to the Withholding Info tab in the Maintain Employees & Sales Reps window.


Ability to Select Specific Customer Email Contact

Now you have the option of emailing a Customer form to a specific contact rather than the

primary or bill-to contact. The updated Forms with this enhancement include: Sales Orders,

Quotes, Proposals, Sales Invoices, Credit Memos, Change Orders and Receipts.


Notes Field in Maintain Vendors

A Notes field was added to the Maintain Vendors area. This enhancement mirrors the setup

of Maintain Customers where the Notes field has existed for many releases.


IPM Inbox (Bell icon) – Sage Message Center

A new “bell” notification was added to the Top Navigation on the Dashboard to indicate how

many active messages you have in your inbox but have not been read or dismissed.

Clicking on the bell icon opens the Sage Message Center and displays active messages

with a read or unread status.

Database Upgrade

The database that Sage 50 Accounting leverages has also been updated in this release.

This upgraded database improves compatibility with Microsoft Windows 10 operation

system and includes the latest security countermeasures to protect company data. This

database upgrade may also improve performance in some of your Sage 50 operations and

will pave the way for further performance updates in future releases.



Payroll Tax Law Compliance and Improvements

The IRS updated Form W-4 for 2020. This required product and Aatrix changes to support

the revised Form W-4 and offer proper payroll tax withholding calculations for active payroll

subscribers.

Improved 1099 eFiling process

Users that process 1099 and 1096 Tax Forms for Independent Contractors and other

Vendors can now process and eFile tax forms more easily and efficiently.

Human Resource Forms & Compliance module from Aatrix

HR Forms is a collection of forms (over 80) commonly used to record important details and

events about your employees. Forms and Packets may be used as is or customized. The

HR Forms & Compliance module is available to Sage 50 Payroll Solution subscribers with

at least one eFile subscription.


Improved Connected Services experience

With new in-product message functionality added to Sage 50, it is easier than ever to learn

about new features and discover the value of connected services. You can also connect to

new applications and services and then manage those connections directly within Sage

50cloud Accounting.


Top requested usability and workflow enhancements were delivered in this release.

Human Resources Forms – Navigation Aids for Payroll



The Sage 50cloud Accounting 2019.2 release, which was launched March 13, 2019, also

included several product enhancements requested by customers. When moving to Sage

50cloud Accounting you’ll also get these enhancements which provide you options to

improve performance and save time while taking care of some common tasks.

Attachments with General Journal Entries

You now have the ability to associate document/files with General Journal Entries by

attaching items directly to the transactions.


Additional Date Range filters

The Date Range filter in Transaction Lists now have “Last Year” and “Last Year-to-Date”

options.

Print Sales Invoice and Picking List more efficiently

You can print Sales Invoices and Packing Slips without having to look up the same

transaction again.


Enhanced Reporting refresh options and options to improve performance

On the General tab of the Maintain Global Options dialog box, there are three new

available selections you may check, which will help improve performance:

• You now have the option to update reports automatically when records are saved.

Whenever a maintenance or transaction report is opened and a transaction is saved,

the reports will automatically update with information; the report window is brought into

focus when the option is enabled.

• You can also opt to update reports automatically when you bring them into focus.

The same behavior as above, but the records are not reflected on the opened Report

until the window is brought into focus; also, on Local Area Networks (LAN) where the

user is viewing, the report switches back to the open report window.

• You can now speed up loading times by not saving the last selected Date Range in List

Views.

With this option enabled, the Date Range filter will be reset to “This Period”, which

avoids long load times if “All Transactions” was previously set.
