SLIDE TO SAFETY® patented system is a non-electrical rapid evacuation system (RES) that deploys by using compressed air canisters in combination with our patented proprietary inflation system that allows the slide to pull in ambient air, thus creating an inflation time in under 4 seconds. From activation to full deployment our slides are ready for use in mere seconds.

SMART SLIDE TO SAFETY®System operators can remotely monitor the status of all SLIDE TO SAFETY® units from one location using “smart” technology. HOW IS STS INSTALLED?SLIDE TO SAFETY® is an emergency evacuation slide system that can be retrofitted to existing buildings and flush mounted into newly constructed buildings. STS is mounted by a system of bolts that make for rapid installation. Since STS is a non-electrical unit, no wiring or electricity will be necessary. SLIDE TO SAFETY® units are 100% prepackaged with all necessary components, making for easy installation by an authorized STS installer.

WHAT IF THE POWER GOES OUT?STS is non-electrical. It works without electrical power.

HOW IS STS INFLATED & DEPLOYED?SLIDE TO SAFETY® uses compressed air canisters that run through aspirators to deploy. These aspirators let the slide pull in ambient air, thus giving STS under 6 seconds inflation time. We equip STS with Pressure Relief Valves that are activat-ed when the slide has enough pressure to form a rigid structure. Once deployed, STS will remain fully inflated until the unit is depressurized.

CAN STS BE REUSED?Yes, but if STS is activated, the system must be inspected, recharged, and repacked for reuse.

WHAT MATERIAL IS STS MADE OF?SLIDE TO SAFETY® material is rated to NFPA code 701 standards.

WHAT IS THE MAX HEIGHT LIMIT FOR STS?SLIDE TO SAFETY® can be deployed up to 4 stories.

DOES STS NEED TO BE SERVICED?For commercial and residential applications, visual inspections are recommended yearly and can be performed by your trained personnel. We recommend a full inspection every three years by an authorized SLIDE TO SAFETY® Installer.

HOW QUICKLY CAN A CLASSROOM BE EVACUATED?The national average of a classroom is 25 students and one teacher. Evacuations take roughly two seconds per person, so a typical classroom can be evacuated well under 60 seconds.

ONCE DEPLOYED, HOW LONG DOES STS STAY INFLATED?STS will remain fully inflated until the unit is depressurized.

DOES STS COME WITH A WARRANTY?YES

IS THERE A POSSIBILITY OF A SECONDARY SHOOTER ATTACK WHILE EVACUATING?Since 98% of all active shooter events to date have been carried out by a single attacker, the likelihood of a secondary attack is minimal. The immediate threat of an intruder in the building far outweighs the possibility of a secondary attack while evacuating the building. As police arrive they will also be able to neutralize an attack from the outside more quickly than one inside the building.
