P1 “P1” is the rating given to a respirator which meets Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 1716 for filtering mechanically generated particles e.g. particles formed by crushing, grinding, drilling, sanding, cutting, etc.

P2 “P2” is the rating given to a respirator which meets Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 1716 for filtering mechanically and thermally generated particles e.g. those from welding fumes.

GP1 “GP1” is the rating given to a respirator which meets Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 1716 for filtering mechanically generated particles. The additional “G” classification provides protection from nuisance* levels of organic vapours and odours generated by painting, paint stripping and cleaning, and agricultural spraying of herbicides, pesticides and fungicides.

GP2 “GP2” is the rating given to a respirator which meets AS/NZS 1716 standards for filtering mechanically and thermally generated particles.
