Analysis
The broad causes of electrical accidents happening to
workforce are:
• Coming in contact with hazardous electrical network /
equipment created due to improper unsafe installations
within premises of consumers.
• Improper risk assessment.
• Inefficient monitoring of self supervised activities.

61
Identification of High Risk Poles with associated hazards and risk mitigation.
Data derived using GIS database and field observation.
Identified pole numbers tagged in OMS.
TOs would get to see on their OMS User Interface under special field “UNSAFE
POLE” along with sign
On the order “comments” field he would get to see the pole number which has
been mentioned as unsafe.
Training being imparted to TOs.
TOs are required to specifically ask the L/M to be more cautious while attending
to complaints in such cases. They can be given red markers to write “UNSAFE”
on such TM slips. This will help them identify such complaints if he is carrying
multiple jobs.
Incremental update/modification in the list can be done every fortnight,
zone need to supply us by Monday and we shall update by Wednesday.
SMS to ZSO for such complaints to alert them.
On random basis OMS Dispatcher shall also make call to TO/ZSO to alert them.61

Mitigation of network related issues• Ensuring proper clearances during installation which is vetted by Electrical
Inspector through site inspection.
• Preventive mass maintenance of all equipment in a scheduled time bound
manner controlled through SAP system as well thermoscanning for condition
monitoring for eliminating failures .
• Robust protection system to clear any random fault within fractions of seconds.
• Suraksha Abhiyaan in which any unsafe situation is taken care of through
