The prestigious World of Safety & Health (WSHAsia) Awards 2020 recognises excellence within the safety industry, excellence based on products and services with an objective of improving workplace safety and health. The 2020 WSHAsia Award Winners will be announced on social media via our website www.wshasia.com, on Thursday 27th August 2020.

All products & services will be considered based upon entry submissions. Award-winning companies will receive immediate benefits as they will be featured in the award edition of our quarterly World of Safety & Health Digital Magazine, award pages of the WSHAsia website and social media accounts.

The excellence of each product will be evaluated by renowned figures in the safety and health industry from Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong SAR and Australia. Companies are entitled to submit up to three products or services. The deadline for the entries to be submitted is by 30th June 2020. Please refer to the ‘how to enter’ notes later in this booklet. Entry for the award is free of charge.

WSHAsia is the only safety & health online media and marketplace in Asia. The WSHAsia Awards promote the importance of innovation and highlights the highest standards of excellence within safety and health in workplace. The award will give the winning manufacturers or vendors a pride of place in the industry, with winners receiving the prestigious recognition at of World of Safety & Health Awards Winner.

World of Safety & Health Awards Entrants are eligible to submit up to three products or services. The only prerequisite is that the launch of the product(s) falls within the 1 January 2019 and 30 June 2020. Once you have completed your entry form, along with the accompanying materials, the products/services will be collated and reviewed by the appointed independent judges.

JudgesVictor Kwong | Mr. Victor Kwong is known as the General Manager of Corporate Sustainability of Hong Kong and China Gas Co. Ltd. He is also the Director of Business Environment Council (HK), President of The Hong Kong Federation of Occupational Safety and Health Associations, Past President of Hong Kong Occupational Safety & Health Association, member of Construction Industry Council (HK) Committee on Construction Safety, member of the Labor Advisory Board – OSH Committee (HK), member of the ECF Research Projects Vetting Subcommittee and more. Victor has more than 35 years of experience in the areas of corporate sustainability, environmental protection, occupational health and safety, fire protection, crisis management and security protection. He coordinates the corporation’s effort to improve sustainability and safety performance through effective risk management system, energy saving programs, carbon reduction and climate change risk reduction.

Ir Dr. Vincent Ho | Ir Dr. Vincent Ho, is known as the 52nd president of Institutional of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). He is the founding Chairman of Hong Kong Association of Risk Management and Safety. During his past days, he had served as the President of International Association of Probabilistic Safety Assessment and Management, and the President of Southern California Society for Risk Analysis. He has over 35 years of experience in transportation, nuclear, aerospace, and defence industries. Vincent is the Head of Corporate Safety for MTR Corporation, a privatized company which is listed in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange responsible for metro railway operations serving passengers daily in Hong Kong, the UK, Sweden, Australia, and Mainland China.

Bernie Doyle | Bernie Doyle has actively worked in the automotive industry, in both supply organizations and manufacturing, which included over 20 years with General Motors in the UK. He has been a Director of the NSCA for over 25 years and is the current Chairman of the company, for nearly 15 years. He is an honorary life member of the NSCA and was recognized by the South Australian government in 2005 with an award for Outstanding Achievements in the area of Health and Safety. He retired early 2014 and as to his commitment to the National Safety Council of Australia, Bernie also consults to a number of small to medium organizations through his company Improvement Inc. He also serves as a Director on a number of Boards. Furthermore, Bernie was appointed as the Secretary General of APOSHO, Asian Pacific Occupational Safety Health Organization in 2018.


Dato’ (Dr) Kanagaraja | Dato’ (Dr) Kanagaraja is the Managing Director of MOSHPA Global Academy. He is the President of the Malaysian Occupational Safety & Health Professionals’ Association (MOSHPA); President of the Malaysian Indian Chamber of Commerce (MAICOM); President of the Rotary Club Bukit Komanwel; Vice President of Malaysia-Asia Pacific Chamber of Commerce; President of Gabungan Persatuan-Persatuan India Negeri Sembilan; Council Member of the National Council for Occupational Safety & Health Malaysia (NCOSH) and the Co-organiser for the 35th APOSHO Conference & Seminar 2020 Malaysia.

Soh Hong Kuan Bernard | Mr. Bernard Soh Hong Kuan is the current elected President of The Singapore Institution of Safety Officers (SISO) since 2016. He leads SISO in myriad WSH-related programmes and activities in order to achieve its vision: “to be the leading institution for the advancement of the WSH profession”. Bernard is also the Senior HSE Manager at Worley Engineering Singapore Pte Ltd.

Eligibility period and closing date• The eligibility period for entries runs from 1 January 2019 to 30 June 2020. • The closing date for all entries is on Tuesday 30th of June 2020.

Terms & Conditions • All entries for the Product Innovation Awards must be provided on the official entry form. One

product or service per form. Additional forms are available on request. All entries are free of charge. Only a total of three products /services submissions can be received from each company. Entrants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions

• Only products introduced to market from 1 January 2019 to 30 June 2020 will be eligible.

• The entry deadline is on Tuesday 30th of June 2020 at 2000hrs (GMT+8) and no entries after this date & time will be accepted

• The total number of awards presented is at the judges’ discretion

• The opinion of the judges will be reflected purely on the information presented

• An Award does not imply any warranty that a product or service is safe or that it performs technically or functionally in a satisfactory fashion

• The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

• The organisers accept no liability for any losses to entrants of any sort resulting from submission of entries

• All details of the Award Scheme are correct at the time of printing but may be varied by the organiser at any time and new terms, conditions and other details published

• In the event the Promoter is unable to contact the winners, or a winner is unwilling or unable to accept their Award, the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to another entrant who, in the opinion of the judges and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, is the next best entry

• The judges will treat all information supplied in the strictest confidence

• Winners to be announced on social media via our website www.wshasia.com, on Thursday 27th August 2020.

• The selection of entries & nominees for appearance on the Website is entirely at the Promoter’s discretion

• You agree that the Promoter may use your name, and the name of your nomination, and/or likeness for advertising and/or publicity purposes in connection with the Awards including but not limited to the publication of your name, and the name of your nomination, on the Website. The winners (and its representatives and personnel) may be required to and agree to take part in reasonable publicity events in connection with the Awards
