Hand Tool IQMake sure you are using the correct tool for

each task (i.e. size, type, etc.)Maintain tools in proper conditionDO NOT use damaged or dull toolsGrip tools firmly and properly to avoid

injuriesMake sure work areas are clear of any

obstructions, such as, food and drink as well as binders, note books etc.

created to reduce injuries and increase your safety

Material Safety Data SheetsMaterial Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) provide

safety information about materials being usedInformation can include:

Basic First AidInform your instructor of all injuries

IMMEDIATELY, even the most minute and minor incidents

Basic procedures for small cuts/scratches are the following:Wash you hand and dry them- do not let anything

and and especially any one make contact with the injury beforehand

Cover the injuryClean the cut and if possible raise the injury above

your heart to reduce the blood lossCover it once again

ElectricityMake sure you know how to use the

equipment properly before applying any power to it

Know all safety procedures in cases of electrical emergencies

Know how to use the Electric Multimeter for situations when investigating issues in electrical equipment and searching for causes of problems in the used equipment

Be aware and prepared for all possible situations/ scenarios

Battery Leak/Spill ProceduresBattery Type Leakage Procedures

Nickel Cadmium Handle with rubber gloves and protective clothing with no direct contact of skin and the electrolyte.

Lithium Ion Place in suitable container with gloves and call emergency number

Alkaline Prevent all skin/eye contact and place item in a plastic metal lined container using rubber gloves

Lead-Acid Attempt to neutralize by pouring soda ash or sodium bicarbonate until fizzing stops. Use as ventilation mask as gases may be released during neutralization process. Place all remains in an appropriate container and recycle by laws and regulations of your location.
