Levels of responsibility - Basic to level 3

• Basic Awareness Level – appropriate to all healthcare workers who support nurses and midwives

• Level 2- Registered Nurses and Midwives working with children, young people and/or their parents and cares where there is a potential safeguarding issue

• Level 3 – Nurses working in roles where specialist knowledge of safeguarding is required

The purpose of the SBNI is to coordinate and ensure the effectiveness of what is done by each person or body represented on the Board for the purposes of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
