Presentation
As an art critic, my main task is to present the work of a masterof painting to a large audience, the artist Misa Aihara. If I were youngart critic and not used to big business, this simple task would be dif-ficult for me as I climb a very high mountain, but, fortunately, it isnot so. The artist Misa Aihara is well known by a vast Italian public, because she is a painter who has participated in great performancesand she has obtained great prizes. My task then becomes more im-portant, and even more intriguing, because I want to present it to thegreat European public that would never expect a Japanese artist sointernational and attentive to different cultures like Misa Aihara.
Already back in 2009 Misa Aihara has published a beautiful col-lection of her works with the title FILOZOFIAS KOLOROJ and witha trilingual structure (Japanese, English and Esperanto, the languageof all). Now I propose an anthology that is also the “descriptiosumma” of her work in recent years, a work of inspiration, concen-tration, effort and intellectual effort of no small importance. The firstthing you need to know when trying to penetrate the art of Misa Ai-hara is that our artist is fascinated by colors, but not in a traditionalway. The same title of any work shows us how the colors are the star-ting point but also the goal of the artist’s work. Misa Aihara chasesthe colors, detects their traces, chases them in the most unexpectedplaces and captures them, eventually distributing them to all of us inher magnificent paintings. Let yourself be enchanted by herpreys............................................................................

In this beautiful anthology, wanted by Misa Aihara as a ledger thatreckon with the past to be able to plan and look to the future, thereare no characters, there is not even the artist. The paintings, the works of art by Misa Aihara, are the characters ofthis beautiful book, which is being written on its own. Each charac-ter will dialogue with the observers (with the spectators) in the onlylanguage that Misa Aihara knows and her characters possess: thelanguage of the heart and the soul. Her paintings will speak directly to the minds of spectators and fans.Misa Aihara knows very well that the colors (like the flowers) havedifferent meanings in the various cultures of the world and on thevarious occasions in which they are shown, but she risks willinglyand she wants to talk with everyone. In this way any person, who comes from the five continents inwhich the earth is divided, must not try to understand Misa’s worksof art with his mind, but he must try to perceive them in the depthsof his soul and his heart.I am sure that all those who do not know Japan and its great artisticand historical past will struggle to understand Misa’s work, becausebehind them there is no knowledge of the art of writing in Japan orof drawing and study of the form, which for centuries has guided thesearch for colors in the great painters of the Rising Sun.

But Misa Aihara goes much further. She exceeds the tradition ofher beautiful and spiritual country, to enter the world tour of thecreators of art. Her art speaks to the spirit. Misa is very good atcreating her “key colors” on which she builds the plots of hispaintings, but she is so open to always experiment with new waysand nuances as she grows up as an artist and as a creator. Her is a work on progress!

Sometimes her inspirations are linked to the pure forms of Nature, other times a carpet - once seen in Istanbul in Turkey - is enoughto unleash her desire to create and communicate. But be careful, dear reader, Misa Aihara is a cultured painter and her intellectualreferences are buried under a sea of colors and their shades, youwill struggle to understand them. But, I think, this is one of thereasons why the art of Misa Aihara is beautiful and captivating.

Who speaks of “color philosophy” orof “philosopher who loves and studiescolors”, applying these terms to MisaAihara, certainly makes no wrong.Philosophy means love for knowledgeand Misa Aihara has an immense lovefor colors, which she considers as atool for perceiving, understanding andinterpreting the real that surrounds us.It is interesting to see how some co-lors have evolved in Misa Aihara’s artover the years. The basic blue colorhas changed in shades (but alsoorange and red have undergone a tran-sformation). The blue color in Misa’sworks has evolved and moved to the“sky blue” color that we recognizeeven better than a simple glance. Na-turally Misa Aihara is aware of thisand she communicates this with herwritings to all her fans.

One thing that greatly affects my atten-tion is the possible reflection on thecompositional schemes proposed byMisa Aihara in her paintings. This iswhy the form comes back strongly infavor. The compositional schemes ofMisa can be found as real drawings in-side a carpet, a painting, a floor made ofhand-made tiles of a beautiful villa, a fa-shion t-shirt, etc. etc. These complex compositional schemesare the result of years of study of theform. They are also the manifestation ofovercoming traditional Japanese compo-sitional schemes to immerse themselvesin the sea of the oblivion of contempo-rary art to the purest law of cause andeffect. In front of a picture of Misa, the specta-tor should leave the imagination freeand find its own meanings, without theintermediation of rationality.
