10:15am Thanksgiving for Easter Flowers
Your prayers are requested for Lise Guillemette,
Donald Fraser and Thomas Walsh, Sr. who recently
died and for their family and friends who mourn.
May they and all our departed rest in peace.
EASTER FLOWER DONATIONS
In the past years at both Sacred Heart
and Saint Patrick the offering of a gift
towards the cost of the Easter flower
decorations has been made in memory
of loved ones. Also was the custom to
list the names of the loved ones in the
bulletin. In prior years we have had
people who have made donations be
disappointed due to the timing of our staff not
receiving all of the donation envelopes in time for the
printing of the bulletin. In an effort to include all
intended loved ones we will instead offer a mass at
each parish in memory of those names to be
remembered. The Thanksgiving for Easter Flowers
Mass at Sacred Heart will be on Sunday April 8 at
10:15 and at Saint Patrick on Sunday April 15 at
12:00.
Palm Sunday evening we were treated to a moving presentation of the “Resurrection” by our St. Patrick Family
Players. I wish to offer a special thank you for their commitment to this ministry of evangelization. The five Precepts of the Church are:
You shall attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation. You shall confess your sins at least once a year. You shall humbly receive your creator at least once a year. You shall observe the prescribed days of fasting and abstinence. The faithful have the duty of providing for the material needs of the church.
The obligation for annual confession (the minimal requirement) is prescribed for
preparation of the celebration of Easter and may be fulfilled during the Easter Season
which concludes at Pentecost. The Second Sunday of Easter is Divine Mercy Sunday.
This devotion invites us to go to confession for Easter and recite the chaplet of Divine
Mercy on Sunday April 8th. Our priests will be available for confession after the
Sunday Masses on April 8th for those who wish to participate in the Divine Mercy devotion. On behalf of Fr. Conley, Fr. Riley and Deacon John and all our staff, I extend our prayerful Easter best wishes to
all our parishioners of the Watertown Catholic Collaborative.
