4th Sunday of Advent: December 20 That we take time to properly prepare ourselves to celebrate Mass each Sunday. “For behold,

when the voice of your greeting came to my ears, the babe in my womb leaped for joy.” (Luke 1:44) When you hear the scripture readings and Gospel reading each Sun-day, do you “leap for joy?” If not, don’t blame the lectur-er or priest, rather look inside yourself. Do you prepare for Mass each week or do you just show up and expect to be entertained?

Many parishioners prayerfully make their end of the year gifts at this time. Gifts of stock are a popular form of end of year gift and should be encouraged. The Office of Development at the Downtown Chancery is available to assist your parish and community with theses transactions. The Letter of Intent form, which is the necessary document to initiate a donation of stock and to allow proper donor identification and gift designation, is available for download from the Archdiocesan website http://www.archgh.org/development/donate/. We encourage you to direct inquiries about gifts of stock to Michael Schillaci @ 713-652-4418 or Michelle Munoz @ 713-652-8242 for the proper procedures. The Office of Development acknowledges all stock gifts in writing. Any donor not receiving proper acknowledgement is asked to call Michelle at the Downtown Chancery.

Thinking about becoming a Catholic? The Rite to Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) has begun, but it is not too late to join. We meet Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Life Center. Come join us as we journey toward full membership in the Catholic Church. Dress is casual; class is casual.

“Looking For A Few Good Men” For most men who follow Jesus, there comes a time when duty extends beyond our own lives, beyond how we lead our families, and into how we serve our fellow man. We are proud of our devotion to God and country, and believe in standing up for both. Whether it's in public or private, the Knights remind the world that Catholics support their nations and are amongst the greatest citizens. That is what the Knights of Columbus is all about. Please consider becoming a member of this unique band of brothers. For further info. Please contact Ignacio Pena @ 281-935-2163, or David Lopez @ 281-507-6051. Thank You

DSF Update As this year comes to an end, we would like to thank the 370 families that have donated to the DSF in the total amount of $95,819.83. We are very grateful for your generosity. Although we have exceeded last year’s goal of $95,000, this year our goal is $97,000. Last year 381 families generously donated for a total of $104,591.79. Remember that 50% of the amount collected over our goal of $97,000 is distributed to poor parishes and the other 50% overage is returned to us. We are asking that the rest of our parishioners (2,830 families) prayerfully consider giving to the DSF that will benefit the Archdiocesan ministries that serve thousands and thousands of our brothers and sisters in our Archdiocese. We have placed DSF envelopes in the pews for your convenience. We will also take up a second collec on during the weekend of December 19 and 20 for our DSF goal.
